TBH I would be more worried about the console being banned for modding. Hearing more and more stories about second hand consoles being banned off xbox live and repairs.
#9
Yup i have done that but i cant wait like a couple of weeks so im gonna get my arcade sorted out, then bang it on ebay with 20gig hd for around £50-£70 once sorted, so will get most my money back anyway.

It comes with 12mths warranty from Game, so if it gives me any hassle then i will simply just send it back to them and get a replacement.
#10
Can these be soft modded?
#11
I dont see why this is cold really fair enough its 2nd hand but if the rrod happens you still have the 3 year cover from MS and that will be sorted.
Also if its banned or has issues im sure there no problems with returning them to GAME.

Yor be lucky to get £70 for a 20gb, as that is the price that the 120gb are selling for. I would guess that the likely price will be £30 tops, as cex sell them 2nd hand for £25, and you get slightly more on fleabay

Microsoft do not cover pre-owned consoles. The only thing is that you might be lucky enough to get one that the last owner did not register with microsoft.

Ahh rite did not know this i thought they covered all consoles and went from the MFR date
#15
I meant the console and the 20gb hd for £50-£70 with controller.
#16
Never ever buy a pre-owend 360. Before anyone says just send it back to Microsoft for a free repair. What about if the previous owner registered it in there name. If they have then Microsoft will not repair it for free or for a fee unless you know the previous owners details which will be impossible. You can get a brand new arcade for around £115.

How do MS know if console preowned?
#18
I think they are a bargain , games own 12 month warranty is second to none , if you get a problem they will change it without problem or issue

Also if you log into xbox.com and register the console , if registration is successfull your console has never been registered before so you have a longer warranty with micrsoft , if it says error then you know it has never registered before . The chances are it has not been registered as most users never do this until it has a problem

Usually if it's been registered online, as "trinaandlee" says above "most people don't register unless they have a problem anyway". And with the Game 1 year guarantee it's a good deal especially as that price include P&P.

Good price
Voted hot.

also cant you pay £12 for an extended 2 year warranty?....or is that gamestation?!
#20
i have returned a couple of used ones and had them replaced free and a guy i know constantly sends them back. none have ever had a fee put on them by MS. maybe just lucky but as already mentioned you only tend to register when a problem arises.

Argh, sorry that was me getting my wires crossed then. Think you would get the money then for that without a problem.

I suppose that for this price you couls use this as a back up for whenever you need to send back your original one.

Cannot understand why this is so cold , what are people expecting ?

The arcade is a waste of money for first time buyers , you need a minimum of a 60gb hard drives these days with all the download content etc.
#23
I couldnt understand either, as it has 12mth warranty with game and you might be lucky enough to have an unregistered one. Also the pre owned 20gb premium is £119.99 so your actually getting a new system with bigger hd for £10 less!
#24
you can pick up the extended warranty from game (If it breaks just go to a game store and they will swap it). I had a preowned that was already registered which RROD after the 1 year game warranty. When I went to the store they said even without the extended warranty they cover RROD for 3 years (as per microsoft extending warranty).
