This seems the best online deal i've noticed online, as it's identical to the play.com deal but also includes PGR 3, live arcade and an extra wireless controller for just an extra £10.

Unfortunately no vouchers seem to work on consoles, as from what i've heard from several stores and suppliers, there is very little profit margin on hardware, which is the reason why most stores give smaller cashback rates on them.

Also if you go through Quidco, you'll also receive 5% cashbac, which means the total price of this deal is just £284.99 including delivery.

This seems like an excellent deal to me, i'm actually tempted to buy another one for myself, rather than sharing with my bro and after Quidco, it is easily the best deal yet on the xbox 360.

you can get the same deal with WWE Smackdown vs RAW 2007 for an extra £5 at gamestation

I'm aware of that deal but i have no interest in wrestling whatsoever and i'm sure some others would prefere a cheaper deal without the game as well.
Don't forget that after Quidco, this offer is £20 cheaper and gamestation are very slow in dispatching consoles for some reason.

This looks a hot deal as smackdown vs raw looks pretty average!

Could you not trade in or sell Smackdown vs Raw for more than that extra fiver?

You could do but the game is practically worthless, so you'll only save a couple extra quid but like i mentioned, if the order goes through this deal instead, you'll save more than that (about £20) because of Quidco and it'll arrive a lot sooner because Gamestation are very slow in dispatching consoles and only a little better in dispatching games.

Thanks for this :) Nice bundle at a reasonable price!

Gamestation do offer 2% quidco which works out at just over £6 - narrowing the gap to £14. The Game Trade in guide says it offers £19 for WWE - may be more in Gamestation. So there is little difference in it - also I think Gamestation charge for postage - Very little in it to be fair.

That's true about Gamestations cashback but i'm pretty sure they charge for delivery and it's more than the standard price of a game because the xbox 360 package would be quite heavy.
Also bare in mind that it sounds like quite a bit of hassle to exchange the game as well as waiting for longer periods to receive it from Gamestation, as some people previously complained as to waiting from weeks-months to receive their xbox 360 before xmas with no correspondance whatsoever with an overall poor service all around.

Personally, i would prefere to buy it cheaper now and receive the bigger cashback, rather than go through all the hassle of waiting longer periods, paying more money upfront and then having to exchange a game that i don't want.

Obviously if you don't mind this though or you do like the game, then go ahead with the Gamestation deal because that is a great deal as well and i was considering buying that just yesterday and when i called gamestation yesterday, they told me WWE would warrant a trade cash value of anywhere between £10-£15, so it's a little more expensive for people that don't want it.

Not really, as the copy of Smackdown you get with the 360 is a promotional copy and is not meant to be sold without the 360. The person is not meant to allow it to be traded in, but you may get lucky, by getting a dumb person allowing it to be traded in, by scanning another copy of the game with a bar code.

But you can always sell the game on Ebay.

Sorry to interrupt but the first ever trailer for "Grand Theft Auto IV" has just gone online, take a look over at Xbox.com's site:http://www.xbox.com/en-GB/games/g/grandtheftautoiv/

Yes, I know it's not strictly related to this offer but hey it's Grand Theft and it's arriving in October on our Xbox360's

It depends if you feel WWE is worth an extra £20 (as you can't claim cashback on store purchases) but if you're desperate to receive it quicker, then it would be better suited.

It depends, i'm thinking of buying this package and then selling the console just before the Elite is released (i would expect it to take at least a couple months to launch), which should get me at least £200 for the console alone.

This would mean i bought Gears of War, Crackdown, PGR 3, live arcade and a wireless controller for around £85 plus i enjoyed the console for free for a couple months.

but i'd only do that if i findout the Elite will be released in the UK at a good price, as at the moment, it's rumoured to cost £349.99 and the only difference i can see is the colour, a bigger harddrive that i won't need, hdmi port and a headset you can buy for cheap.

The only thing is, i'm sure stores will then offer slightly better premium and core deals but is it really worth waiting for months to save another £10 or so, renting the console would cost a lot more than that and having to already share the xbox 360 with my bro, we both love it (i highly recommend it) but we sometimes have to battle as to gets to play what they want. :giggle:

I'd wait on the elite, It appears the plan is that by christmas the currently £279 pack will have the HDMI and hard drive anyway. The Elite seems to be a short term thing much like the green and crystal xbox 1s.

EDIT : by wait, I mean buy now but if you must have those things wait till after the elite goes.

Any thoughts on how long this deal will last for? I'm having to wait for some money to go into my account, and I'm a bit worried I'll miss this good deal!

When i spoke to someone at Gamestation and ChoicesUK, they both mentioned that it's a very limited deal and according to the person i spoke to Gamestation, their respective deal is only supposed to last a couple days.

EDIT: i think this is more of an end of the month pay day deal just to get some extra sales.

well this elite is due in yank land in 2 months, possibly. it is to be limited edition. once this has gone there will be the nex version of the 360 which is still not confirmed if they will be using a new chip to limit the noise the machine makes.

so the only difference in possibly 4 months time if it actualy comes out in this country will be hdmi socket, my tv has vga and component and i have both sets of leads so an hdmi socket bothers me not. a 120 gb hd, well my 20 gig hd has 14 gig still left on it, i have demos, 25 different games saved and loads of music on there. possibly a quieter chip/fan so when watching hd films although this is not yet confirmed.

if you want an xbox 360 , get one. if you want the next big thing, wait and be disapointed at missing out on at least 4 months of gaming on the same machine which would be aload cheaper.

by xmas 2007 however, i fully expect that the newer version of the 360 will be the only version available to buy and peope will be selling there 'older' xbox 360 for a lot of money as they are hackable to play 'backed up' games.

possibly an end of the financial year deal, i used to work in a computer game shop 14 years ago, this time of year there were loads of great deals as the bosses wished to sell as much as possible before end of year.

They don't have a reward card system or anything like that at the moment but you can claim 5% cashback by going through Quidco.
