Hi mate,

This is basically the same deal they offer but they're trading Crackdown for Command and Conquer 3 for an extra £10, which is supposed to be a much better game except it obviously doesn't come complete with the Halo 3 beta.

Good deal mate, voted the deal hot. :)

Is a good deal, Those 4 games and an extra controller at £20 each makes the console £200, bargain!!

Well, PGR3 and Live Arcade definately isn't worth £20 each or even combined but the other stuff is worth more.

The cheapest price you can get Gears of War is £28, Command and Conquer is about £35 and the wireless pad is around £20-£25, so the deals probably a little better than you think. :)

I was doing averages and guestimates, Seems a good deal either way! :)

I'm waiting for the summer revisions with quieter drives and smaller chip manufacturing methods, so it becomes a cooler quieter machine. But looks like a good deal. Heat added.

To be honest dandoc, I am a PS3 convert. Everything seems to run so much smoother.

Yeah right! All of a sudden, I can no longer connect mine to the internet 95% of the time with wireless (DNS error). when it does connect it soon disconnects itself. It also gets 20% signal While my Wii/360/2nd PC and Laptop all get at least 50-75%. Downloading online is ridiculously slow on my 10MB line - man firmware updates are a joke. Video playback of trailers is glitchy as hell on my TV (the "this is living" ones in particular). My 360 has pretty much never caused me grief (Wii neither).

But yeah, the menu animations etc are smoother and it's quieter if that's what you mean? It's a lot slicker than the 360 in action (apart from the fact you can't use the XMB in game), but the fact remains the 360 has the games to play at the moment and that's what it's all about at the end of the day.

Good deal BTW! Heat and rep added.

Sorry to say this TehSheep, the only revisions coming to the 360 is a 120GB harddrive and a black matt finish. Unfortunately Microsoft don't seem to think theres a problem with the chips, temperature or noise

Great deal mate im seriously considering it, But ill probably wait for ps3 to come down in price.

They are definitely going to be releasing ones with a new 65nm chip mate. The chips have been delayed though. It cuts production cost as well as improving heat reduction...

I can find some links for you if you like.

I read that also, a little while back. I think they'll be here for the Xmas period.

I heard about this as well but when i last read about it, there was no time frame discussed.
The only issue is, even if it is released in the summer, there will still be millions of the original 360 in circulation before you can get hold of the right one.

Ah my bad, last I heard on the subject was that Microsoft claimed there wasn't a problem and the chips are here to stay (I think this was around the time the Xbox Elite became a reality).

A quick search yielded this

Apparantly xbox with new chips will be out in the fall in the US, so even if they're out on time we won't get them til next year and then theres the problem of all the current 'old chip' Xboxs floating around.

But back to the orignal deal, this is quite good if you want one now.

Great deal but no quidco on consoles from play.com

The answer is no, but you wouldn't get much, if any benifit, without one.

You don't need it, but it obviously makes a huge difference. If you've already got a 360, I would wait mate. I quite often sit there looking at my PS3 thinking

"why did I buy this"? :)

Well i was working on the basis that we still haven't even got a launch day for the Elite in Europe.

i think the ps3 is a better machine but i love command and conquer and at the moment 360 has all the good games so cant deny that this is a great deal, good find!
