is this a gd deal or wot!!!!!!!!!!
#2
If that's the case, then the deal is extremely hot but i've decided to opt for a bundle deal in the UK.

Voted hot, as this is probably the best price you'll see for a while on the console on it's own, even if there is a price drop in the next month or so.
#3
Voted hot, seems a really good deal

but can only be a mater of time before we start to see these prices in the uk surley?
#4
I hope the price keeps dropping, not for my own benefit, as I have a 360, but hopefully so it will persuade some of my friends/relatives to get one so I have some people to play on Live with! :) Voted hot for good price.

Same here.
Few mates of mine are tempted but not able to buy at the moment.
Roll on price war.
#6
Im guessing this price doesnt include VAT..

If it doesnt then you can probably expect a fairly chunky customs charge when it enters the uk (£40-60)

As its from the EU, there will be no extra duty to pay. It will be paid in Germany i.e. the price you see is the price you pay
#8
will there be a warteny included if so will i have to post it to germeny if it goes wrong
#9
Only drawback with this is you need to plug a UK kettle lead into the power brick. The warranty works as if you had bought it in England.
#10
cheers cant u just change the plug or buy a europeon adaptor
#11
Oh dammit!
I knew i shouldn't have come here this morning!!!

Thats another £200 odd squid gone..The Mrs ain't gonna be happy!:x

Great deal, voted hot. Remember there will be lots of good deals on these as the Elite 120Gb HDMI version is out on 29th April . :)

You'll get a 2 year warranty as is standard in europe i think instead of the 1 year if you purchased it from amazon.co.uk
#14
Voted hot as well.

I've seen this deal on Amazon.de before, has the price changed since? I'm tempted to get this. But how much will the Elite verson go for? We dont have a HDTV right now so is this is a wise choice to go for?

Europe doesn't have a release date for the Elite yet. April 29th is the North American release date.

Oh ok, I assumed it would be worldwide as per the original 360 release. Shouldnt be too long tho, so the deals should keep coming :)

Incredible price and a fantastic console, voted hot.

The great pricing on recent titles is really having a huge effect on sales, it's showing in the large number of new Xbox 360 gamers I'm meeting on Live.

At this rate It'll soon be time to start our own HUKD Team on Live. ;-)

This deal is going to become exceptionally popular. Great price.

Unlikely, not this kind of price anyway - we've started seeing some pretty good bundle deals, which is probably about as good as we're likely to see for a while. When a price drop doesnt happen, I can't see them dropping the price of the console to this price (maybe around the £240 mark).

Even with the Elite console coming out (although no date confirmed), it's going to be around £100 more expensive than the RRP of the premium console, they they really wouldn't have any reason to drop the price too much.

Excellent deal this, voted hot

Yes it is a good price however judging by the peeps that bought the core unit, this maybe old stock that they are trying to get rid off. peeps that bought the core mainly got units manufactured in Aug 2006.

Since Dec the 360 got a quieter benq drive, which results in reduced noise.

However don't be fooled by the 360 reliability, the failure rate is high, so bare that in mind when buying from amazon.de in terms of returns. Yes you have a warrenty with MS direct, but they tend to send out refurb units (other peoples returns) which again tend to failure (check the forums).

Amazon.de are advertising the new "Elite" model as available from 12 May 2007 so expect this model in the new few months which should result in further price cuts for the Premium.

I really want to get a 360 but will probably wait to see if the revised "Elite" model is more reliable, as this revision will eventually make its way in to the Premium and Core model.

This article I've read suggests that November is a likely release date. But as the article argues do we really need the Xbox 360 Elite anyway.

The kettle lead shown will not work because the Xbox socket has a protruding lug. The Xbox end of the proper lead has a corresponding groove where as the kettle lead does not have this groove which will stop you pushing the plug into the back of the Xbox.

Options are
a) Replace mains plug with a UK one
b) Melt a groove into the original leads plug with a soldering iron (this is what I did)
c) Buy the kettle lead and melt a groove into the plug with a soldering iron
d) Buy an adaptor
e) Try to source a kettle lead that does have the groove if they exist!

Last three options are best if you're not going to want to risk invalidating warrenty.

Yes you really sound like you want a 360:roll: It's a great deal for a great console. Reliability isn't the best but it's also blown out of proportion and you have a warranty anyway and as a bonus a 2 year EU one at that. Troll.

no need to be sarky mr. the two year warranty is only for germany, MS only offer a 1 year warranty if you register the console in the uk apparently.

i wouldn't say the realiability has been blown out of proportion either, just check the forums especially this thread :-

Again i am just saying it how i am seeing it, its better for people to know then not to know. Its a good console, with quality games and yes its a good price :) chazza

Not the case with more recently manufactured models. My amazon.de core console did not require any modification of a UK kettle lead. See previous amazon.de thread for more info :)

I'm not sure about all the new 360's having quieter drives. Seems to be more random than that. I had decided to hold off to try and get a benq drive but then I read this thread on av forums -
http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=499764&page=1

This quote sums it up:

"Do not waste your time with trying to find yourself a 360 with the new BenQ drive. As I said I had two previous units manufactured NOV 2006 and DEC 2006 - these two units both had the Samsung drives.

I have just bought a Premium manufactured FEB 2007 and was gutted when I opened the tray to find the Hitachi model."

Microsoft have already announced that it'll just be using exactly the same components as the Premium/Core models. Whether that changes for Europe i'm not sure, but the US it's pretty much just as is (much to the dismay of many expecting a cooler running processor)...

http://www.joystiq.com/2007/03/28/the-xbox-360-elite-is-official-hdmi-and-120gb-for-479/

I do think the Xbox360 has reliability problems, but at the same time, it probably sounds much worse than it actually is (complaints are always heard more).

If true what you say (and I have no reason to believe that it isn't) then what I have said is still something to be aware of as yet we do not know how old the supply is? I have the previous Core offer too that was posted here end of March but it did require modification (on the back mine reads manufactured April 2006)

You carry on waiting csf, I've played mine pretty much every day since launch and I'm loving it (haven't had a single problem).

The reason you probably don't hear from the Millions of us happy Xbox 360 gamers is were all too busy playing. :-D

Great console with Great games. You can either wait or pick one up for this great price and just start playing. :)

I've had 3x units - none have failed (so far over 18months) - that's only MY personal experience however. I bought a core unit (in the UK dated Dec 06) and it had the noisy Hitachi drive...thank god cos I needed a unit that could have it's firmware updated and played nearly all brands of dvd+r DL, far more important than the sound of the drive for me.

If I didn't have 3x already I would be going for this offer right now instead of wasting time typing this lol.
