I don't know how many of you played the demo over xbox live but this game really impressed me, as well as many others and definitely is deemed as the next best pre-order and must buy game, which is available in a couple weeks.

This game is also officially the most expensive next generation release, spending $30 million on production and it's directed by Hollywoods best action director John Woo and starring Chow Yun-Fat.

This game is now only £32.99 on both the Xbox 360 and PS3 and don't forget that Shopto are arguably the best online retailer for preorder shipments, as games consistantly arrive 1-2 days before the preorder release date.

If you also go through Quidco, you'll receive 4% cashback, making this brilliant game just £31.67 all inclusive.

Hope that helps. :)

Acclaimed action director John Woo presents Stranglehold, a stunning 3rd-person action adventure videogame Xbox 360. A "spiritual sequel" to Woo's action masterpiece, "Hard Boiled," Stranglehold redefines the action gaming experience with its acrobatic gunplay, thrilling cinematography, frenetic combat and incredible Massive Destructibility (Massive D). Chow Yun-Fat reprises his signature role as Inspector Tequila, pitting gamers as a take no-prisoners cop waging a personal war with Hong Kong crime lords. Tequila's loyalties to the force are tested when his ex-wife is kidnapped by the Russian mob in Chicago. Tequila struggles to balance his duty to uphold the law with doing what it takes to save his family.

HYPER-STYLIZED ACTION - Stranglehold allows gamers to play a John Woodirected action blockbuster movie. Dual-wielding,stunt-laden gunplay combined with massive destructible environments ensures that Stranglehold will be a true tour-de-force. The environmental interactivity and two-fisted gunplay all come online, bringing the experience to a whole new level.

AMAZING GUNPLAY & STUNTS - Gamers will experience smooth flowing gameplay, such as running up railings, swinging on chandeliers and leaping onto moving objects, all without interrupting intense gun battles.

BLOCKBUSTER HOLLYWOOD TALENT - Featuring the cinematic flare of acclaimed action director John Woo, Stranglehold will also benefit from Woo's direction on storyline, camera placement and cutscenes. Starring international action-star Chow Yun-Fat as Inspector Tequila, the games cast is also comprised of other A-list Hollywood talent.

GROUND-BREAKING TECHNOLOGY - MASSIVE D - The innovative physics engine will provide gamers with an unprecedented level of interactivity. With two huge areas to explore (Chicago and Hong Kong), the interactions will be infinite with each level offering massive amounts of destructibility.

INNOVATIVE TEQUILA TIME MECHANIC - Stranglehold's inventive combat camera and Tequila Time slow-motion system allow players to simultaneously aim and shoot at the current target while driving, providing for robust gunplay combat between vehicles.

UNREAL 3.0 AND HAVOK - Using a highly modified version of the Unreal 3.0 engine integrated with the Havok physics system, Stranglehold will breathe new life into game environments and characters with stunning graphics, and feature an ever-changing battleground depending on how players approach different scenarios.

Yeah definitely, it's actually £2 cheaper than the second cheapest supplier on the Xbox 360 and £4 cheaper than anywhere else on the PS3, so it's a great price on both consoles but an even better deal on the PS3.

The games looking great, checkout the trailers as well, typical of John Woo, it's got some excellent explosions and hectic scenes. :)

Also theres a demo on Xbox Live which is pretty good.

You're better importing the US version (PS3) of Strangehold which can be had for roughly the same price and comes with Hard Boiled for free in HD.

Would it work on the PS3 having an imported game from a different region, as i know this isn't the case on the Xbox 360 and is it also worth taking the risk of having to pay customs as well, which is about 21% plus £4 admin charge if you get caught.

Not for free.. It's the 'collectors eddition , which costs about 25% more.
But with the strong pound, works out about the same as the normal eddition here..

Don't you receive the Quidco once the respective company has dispatched the products, as i know some companies used to pay out the cashback for preorders and then customers would cancel the order but keep the commission?

Good price. You'll probably get it a day or two early from Igor (Shopto) as well.
I got mine (360 version) from Game.co.uk though for a little cheaper. I did the same with Bioshock (finished today), which came a day early :)

£37.99 - £5 Fanta code (also another £5 code floating about on here) - 11% Quidco.

£29.36 total plus 660 loyalty points for preordering at game for next time.

And yeah, Quidco has never tracked for me when I've preordered at shopto (quite a few times)...

Am in the UK, where can I import the special edition from? and will the movie be compatible with a UK PS3?

Thanks guys.

movietyme are decent. Don't see the point in Hard boiled on Blu ray though. Can't imagine it'll look very good in HD...

Went for the 360 version myself (have a PS3 too).

I've heard good stuff about Videogamesplus:
http://www.videogamesplus.ca/advanced_search_result.php?currency=GBP&osCsid=f6d8d251dc4fb21c107568b068daf1f9&keywords=stranglehold&x=0&y=0&sort=2a&page=1

And like maxliifo said movietyme are good too.

all 3 seem to come to about £38ish not including delivery.

£37.14 delivered at Movietyme according to xe.com and I think they are based in the UK, so shouldn't get held up in customs.

I think you have to add postage to playasia don't you?

Not seen videogamesplus before. Cheers for the link. Have some rep.

I've put Gamecube and GBA games from Videogamesplus.ca in the past and they are very reliable when i used to deal with them but i haven't ordered anything from them for a while.

I remember they also had an Ebay account with glowing feedback. :)

Good deal:thumbsup: . I was very impressed with the demo of this game might have to preorder although I don't think my wallet can take any more abuse:-( .

I've used Videogamesplus.ca in the past and have not had no problems very reliable:thumbsup: .
