Naughty Bear

Naughty Bear is the title of an upcoming video game for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles. Players will control the eponymous bear as they use various weapons to earn "Naughty Points", with extra points being given for "deviant and maniacal" tactics. The game is set on a paradisiacal island where teddy bears live in harmony. The main character, Naughty Bear, is a shabby teddy bear who has a tendency to be mischievous, which earns him the dislike of the other bears. Like the other teddy bears, he does not speak but instead conveys his emotions through a variety of sounds and facial expressions. His actions are influenced by an unseen narrator with a demeanor reminiscent of that of a young children's television show host.

Plot

Naughty Bear is the only bear on the island that was not invited to a certain birthday party because of the fact that he is too naughty. While he crafted a gift for the occasion, he was laughed at by the other bears and sulked back to his house. Naughty Bear decides to take his revenge against all the other bears on the island.

Gameplay

The game is a sandbox-styled world with thirty unique environments and weaponry to unlock through progression. Based on early gameplay footage, the game see players take control of Naughty Bear, using stealth and tricks to lure the inhabitants into situations where they can be executed. It features a system that rewards the player for creative acts of violence and debauchery against the inhabitants of the island. While causing mischief, the player is rewarded with "Naughty Points", as well as being offered certain achievements and trophies. The more inventive and deviant the mischief, the greater the number of "naughty points" that are awarded. Accumulated "naughty points" make up the player's global "naughty score" which can be viewed on real-time leaderboards.

The game also has multiplayer options with games such as Capture the Flag, King of the Hill, and Search and Destroy. Depending on the player's actions, in-game bears can either be recruited or may tamper with the main objective.

I pre-ordered my PS3 version from Game.co.uk because of the addition of the exclusive costumes:

Good deal at Tesco Entertainment, though, Josh. Well found & congratulations on your inclusion on Dealspwn again! :)

I would add "heat" to your deal listing, but I'm confused as to the reason for doing so now :(

I have to say... it was pretty damn good. I honestly can't decide whether to sell it or ride out again - a rarity for a relatively none skill/score based game. It's an environment and experience I do not want to depart. I only rate the multiplayer as adaquate.
It exceeded several years of expectations

Will wait for reviews first. Then if its any good wait for a price drop which im expecting to happen quite quickly.

It's weeks away from release, you won't see any reviews until just before the date.

No, I was referring to Red Dead
(I should have quoted more to make that clear)

This game doesn't look good at all. It's only known because Kotaku have been paid to feature it so heavily on the home page, same for Fairytale Fights. This will be bargain bin material in no time, plenty of other great games you can get for £25.

Save your money or at least wait for a review.
#16
i cant see any gameplay videos online. This close to release its worrying.

IGN say its a refreshing type of game to add to your collection, they say its worth $50 ...... so for £25 according to IGN its a bargain.

Naughty bear? This is the only naughty bear I know

Oh dear, does he not realise his argument only adds weight to your point? It is ridiculous, the way in which people vote! This isn't HotUKProducts, its HotUKDeals. I wish people would stick to the mandate of the site! Vote for the greatness of the deal not the greatness of the product.

Absolutely right, but a month has past so its been reposted as per forum guidelines.

Josh

P.S Thanks for voting cold on the basis that you haven't read the forum rules.
#23
Fair enough I guess if that's what the guidelines say, but it wasn't expired and I found it immediately with a search. Just odd that the previous poster gets 70 degrees and a few comments and a later, duplicate, post gets a lot hotter. Happens all the time and I've never really understood why.

It's largely due to what people are searching for at the time, as its very near to the release date of the game in question, more people are looking to buy it, a month ago that wasn't the case.

Also the inclusion in Dealspwn will no doubt have generated greater interest.

I tend to refrain from using silly internet spawned acronyms but on this occasion I feel the need, LOL.

I think you might want to click on the hyper-link in "fanpages" post and read the debate, "fanpages" remark in this thread is a sarcastic one, ensuing from his (really one-sided) argument with "Rubisco" regarded the use of "heat".

I too was being sarcastic. I just dont see the point in arguing over the whole hot and cold voting thing.

Ah apologies then, I should have afforded you the benefit of the doubt.

As for why it is important to define why it is important that the voting system is defined, see my post further back up on page 2.

The mandate of the site is to promote deals, not products, therefore people shouldn't vote on whether they like a product or not, but on whether it is a good deal. Some great deals are lost as people cold vote them as they don't like the manufacturer, supplier or the product itself which is a shame as it kind of defeats the purpose of the site!

Haha :), unusual example, but on that occasion I would abstain from voting rather than vote either way, as technically it would be a good deal for that particular product, but I wouldn't want it to oust something that might interest me more.

ive been interested in this for a while, but the fact its only £30 on release before discount is worrying, new games shouldnt be that low right away.

i have a feeling this will plummet like dark void - even though i thought dark void wasnt bad at all, just nothing revolutionary. still i got it for £6 from cex which isnt bad.

im guessing play.com sell this game for £17.99 by the end of july. ill stick it out till xmas i think, i have stopped buying new releases now i dont care how good they are. red dead ill get to eventually :)

I agree, game prices are indeed dropping like flies at the moment, the last game I bought brand new, from a shop, was "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2", but even that was from Sainsbury's for £26. It's much better to wait for the price to drop, unless you want to play a particular multi-player title, whilst it is still in everyone's machines.

Have to agree it then just more junk to store some place
as i have plenty of spare cases

btw this game looks hideous can you imagine kids playing it
lot of kids play halo etc so they can get this game by some unsuspecting parent
Gangster Teddy Bears isnt that an advert for hotels tho lol

This game isn't going to be very good.

As for hot products/deals - if it's a ***** product, then it doesn't matter how much it costs, it's not going to be a good deal. As the site says, it's deal anarchy from the masses, and the masses are voting the way they see fit.
