Great price for a great game. I've now ordered one.

Hot.

Great find!

Ordered!

Great find, now to decide PS3 or 360?
#5
From IGN: "The game runs well, looks beautiful, sports great music and obviously has enjoyable combat. The PS3 and 360 versions are just about identical (barring the differing guest characters), though I felt that the optional install on the PS3 made things feel even quicker and more polished."

Good price but the add on's are really over priced, to play as Darth on the X360 with all the extra weapons and equipment works out at about £15. Still I love the game itself voted hot.

hot ordered! thanks op

I'm officially not buying any more PS3 titles until at least a week before Christmas.

I bought two of the PS3 "Soul Calibur IV" titles from Argos yesterday (after seeing a HotUKDeals thread) for £24.99 each & I thought I was getting a bargain.

In the last few weeks I've seen £10 knocked off my pre-order price for "LittleBigPlanet" at Play.com, and "Midnight Club: Los Angeles" went down to £24.99 online at the GAME site last week (after I paid £29.99 for it two weeks before with a "£3 off £30" voucher code).

The video games market must be in freefall at present with retailers desperately trying to gain some revenue, or sell off rafts of stocks to claw back some of their outlay rather than having the items sat in piles gathering dust.

Good for the consumer in the long-run, but very annoying if you've already done most, if not all, of your Christmas shopping already :(

Pre-ordering titles now is definitely going to be avoided at the very least.

fanpages - newsflash, your doing your christmas shopping to early. Sometimes its annoying to find a better deal elsewhere but we just need to grin and bear it-it happens to everybody at some point.

Ditto although I rarely pre-order games as they always drop quite sharply in the first 6-8 weeks and I can wait that long although I did preorder Resistance (£28) as a friend has it and he needs to be taught a lesson.

Plus I'm not spending any more money on games at the moment because I have a backlog because of HotUkDeals, all fairly new releases and all way off the RRP.

My fingers are going to bleed this Chrimbo. :santa:

I have been spreading the cost over a few months worth of credit card bills so it is not one big hit all on January's statement (when I may be out of work).

But yes, it happens to everybody from time to time. It just seems to have happened to me every week for the last three weeks :(

I have been buying new & nearly new (pre-owned) titles in the "For Sale/Trade" listings here (& on other forums) at cheap prices thinking I'm getting a real bargain then finding the high street stores are dropping to the same price a week or so later.

Madness.

Yup... so many worthy titles available in October/November/December. It's a pity none were about in the mid-year lull.

"Resistance 2", "Tomb Raider: Underworld", & "Prince of Persia" (and possibly "Need for Speed: Undercover") are all still on my radar, but I think I'm going to sit it out & wait for the prices to fall from the first few weeks.

Have you played the "Resistance 2" Beta? Such a shame the UK isn't getting sight of the US Collector's Edition too :(

I am a big Resistance fan loved the first one, so I did want the Collector's Edition but decided not to when I saw the costs. I didn't play the Beta.

As for Tomb Raider, the reviews haven't been that good (see Metacritic) so I would expect to see this down in price quite quickly. I am a Tomb raider fan right from the mind blowing first release although it looks pants now on my PS3 (yes I still have Tomb Raider 1 for the PS1). Mind you the way Eidos has treated PS3 owners stinks, no demo and no trophies, so I have a good mind to wait until it is £7.99 or lower.
Unsure about Prince of Persia as I've never played any of them.

The ps3 version is only at play trade, and the 22 one is a used version not new, not not a great deal like the 360 version wich is new and direct from play :x
#22
PS3 now available, but for 24 quid. PlayTrade, sorry

GAME have their Exclusive Limited Edition "Tomb Raider: Underworld".
£44.99 is way too much though, and even if the reviews were good, I would be waiting (now).

If you can still play PS2 titles I would recommend buying the Trilogy set of "Prince..." games ("...The Two Thrones", "...The Sands of Time", "...Warrior Within"); not least because they are low-priced, but because they'll keep you busy for many months.

Play.com have a "pre-order kit" for "Prince of Persia".
Again, £39.99 is too expensive.

If you have both PS3 and 360 then the PS3 controller is much better for this kind of game.

The buttons and D-Pad on the 360 controller are heavier and not as responsive compared with the PS3 controller (DualShock or Sixaxis).

ive rented this game, and didnt really like it - i prefer soul calibur II.

i agree on the people who say dont preorder games - i only preorder limited edition versions as they usually increase in value - but preorder a normal game at you peril - unless you must have it and play it right away, id just wait.

best thing to do actually is rent new games - then once the game is cheap, at least all the work you did when you had the rental will be still on your hard drive.
#32
no no no no no no no :(

cant beleive i missed this one and i really wanted this game at this price range.

I wasnt being negative.

And the xbox price isnt £14.94... the Xbox USED price is £14.94. Im not saying their is something wrong with that, im saying that its not the same and cannot be compared.

And its not that the case is just opened, the disk may be scratched, manual missing, could be a bundle copy etc... need i go on?
#39
