I got one of these last week to connect the second 360 up via s-video

not a bad cable for the price
#2
thanks, been looking for a cheap s-video lead for a while.
#3
Nice price, voted hot - "For ages 8 years and over." lol

Argos were doing it at this price a while back and I got it then. Good price but you end up with the connection you're not using just adding even more wires behind the tv for no good reason.

Voted hot nonetheless

Good price +

Be warned some of the "non genuine" Xbox360 cables have had very poor reviews.. not saying this is just be cautious

I hate people with no knowledge of technology who ask stoopid questions but...what does this doooo? Will it give better picture on your average 26" HD LCD TV than the lead that comes with the 360 already?
#11
That depends - the lead you get with a premium and a core differ, if the lead came with a premium, then no - you should already be connected correctly to your HD tv.
#12
Ahh it's the one I got with my Core, connected via the little red, yellow and white plugs.

I can't believe there are so many people with expensive next generation consoles and fancy LCD TVs who still hookup their consoles with the standard composite cable. The picture quality is AWFUL - why would you bother paying for an expensive console if you aren't going to take advantage of it.

It's the gift that keeps on giving :giggle:

Apologies, I did do a quick search before posting but admittedly didn't look back too far. Nice to see it's helped some people though :)

Has anyone checked if it's really RGB

The product title (and printed label on the box) mentioned RGB... but the product detail & instructions in box only mention composite & S-Video.

Purchased a cable today. Hooked it up and it works, but I need to get the meter out and/or look closely to check if it's RGB...

Being immensely dumb... :?

I've got the Premium connector (or so I think). I connect blue, green, red and white and one other (another red I think) so 5 in total for my HDTV. Can someone please confirm whether buying this would improve picture and sound, which are already pretty tidy?

Many thanks,

Ganticus.

Sounds like you are using the component connections, so I would doubt this cable would improve the quality of your picture.

What this is good for is if you have an HDMI equipped 360 other than the elite and want to use the optical out as well, saves hacking up the supplied component cable to make it fit alongside an HDMI one.

Has anyone confirmed if this is RGB, or is it just composite and s-video ?
#22
IF you do a search you get results like this...

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Scart-SV-Cable-Xbox-360/dp/B000FVUALI

so would appear to be!

yes it is - and still available online or ordered from your store.

I have a scart switch box that has a toggle for RGB mode so it is 100% confirmed. The text is actually readable on most games in SD now. Good for the second TV when I get evicted from the main one.
#24
Definately 100% RGB. I have one and know the difference! Clarity of text is vastly superior to that with the provided cable even on a 15 year old SD CRT (albeit high end--ish sony trinitron at the time!)
