Howdy. On my travels today came across this set which seemed pretty decent value in the Sale section of my local GAME (Hanley Store). Includes an official Xbox 360 media remote, 3 months Live subscription and 1 month access to the Xbox 360 Sky Player, all for £14.99 (reduced from £29.99).

Looked like a bargain, but I needed none of em. I believe the subscription for Live alone cost £14.99 in the same store. There were about a dozen left in my store. Hope someone gets a bargain.

Used the word "store" too much there, it's lost all meaning...

NOW AVAILABLE ONLINE - CLICK LINK. Sorry for the capitals.
This same deal is now available online, with up to 9% cashback available (from Quidco I think... correct me if I'm wrong). Thanks to robot1000 for telling me!

Also 14.98 at gamestation.

The sky pack does only give 1 month for sky but you get 3 months xbox live (retails 14.99) and a dvd remote
#3
Can you use the 3mth subscription on an active Xbox live sub? Do you need to cancel the Sky part after the first month?

Indeed, they had plenty of these in the Glasgow branch (Union St) when I was in today.

I was tempted by this the other day but to sign upto sky it wants £34 a month after the free month not sure if u can cancel after the first month but its a hell of a sting. But still a good price for a remote and 3 month subscription just make sure u read the small print.
#6
This not online?
#7
Do you think you could just buy a few of these and put the code in every month ? If so selling the xbox live 3 month subscription and remotes on ebay would make it a cheap way to watch sky.
#8
Does this give you sky sports without a sub?
#9
I hope they have these in my local store!! Will check tomorrow
#10
will be instore early to hunt down one of these 2moro! thanks op:thumbsup:
#11
so u put the sky code in you get every channel sky sports 1+2 also ? what happens when it runs out? can u use another sky 1 month pack and keep updating it that way?
#12

Let me help a few of you out here as I have one of these....

T&C:

1 month sky player subscription voucher must be redeemed on or before 30th Sep 2010. After your one month you will be charged for sky player sports and entertainment pack at £34/month. Your subscription will renew automatically at the end of the month unless you request otherwise. This offer only applies to new sky player TV customers. Existing customers would have to cancel their subscription an re-subscribe to redeem the voucher code.

You also can't use the one month Sky without giving them card details.
Annoying really, because I don't have one.

They say that....

But if you look at the expiry code on the scratch card with the code on you'll see it actually expires in 2 years time, I threw mine out after getting the code but it was sometime in 2011\12 and not 2010.

I've been using it since it launched and have had no problems. My friend finds that sometimes he has to wait a bit for it to buffer if on around 6pm but he is also using a wireless adapter. Like I said, plugged straight in I've had no problem.

sky works fine for me :-D

Nah.. it runs out at the end of next year (said so when I signed up).

Don't buy it just for the Sky, I bought four from Play.com because I had credit, I'll keep mine going (got to cancel then redeem a voucher again, though) simply as it's handy, but the quality is so so bad, I get better streams online.

It would be a good deal. But wat it dose not say is you need to subscribe to multiroom. You also have to be a sky subscriber as well please read the small print on the box or on xbox live. It would be good if you did not need to have a sky account
#23
great quality for me (y)

buffers for 5 seconds at the start and then players perfectly
also some good on demand stuff available
great deal
#24
Sky Player is fine on my Xbox...even when played through a 40" screen and with only a download speed of about 1.5mb.

EXACTLY, the 3 months live alone is worth £14.99 and the remote is £19.99. So it's a nice little saving.
Has anyone actually used the sky 1 month code though, and managed to cancel without any hassle?
#27
when i first heard about sky player on the XBOX, I was all like, "wow - dem sky folk aren't the money grabbing *******s I thought they were - offering free viewing on the xbox for existing SKY customers/subscribers" but then when I realised about that multi-room nonsense I was all like, "how could I have been so nieve?"

Wish microsoft would stop being so tight-fisted and give me my Iplayer.

What is it with these corporations and wanting to make profits? :[

Got one of these at the start of the month for the NFL playoffs (conveniently lasting a month), wouldn't really watch anything else on sky sports (until the 2010 nfl season) so 1 month is fine.

Watched last weeks games (2 american football games back to back - 6:30 til 1:30 am, no streaming errors / buffering on my 10meg line. Quality isn't quite as good as regular sky but is perfectly watch-able.

Hoping the cancellation goes fine at the end of the month!

In store in Great Yarmouth, great deal if you need the remote to watch dvd's on etc! 3 months free xbox live can't be bad either :) HOT

Yeah you cancel online, just cancel as soon as you sign up then it won't auto-renew.

Simple!

You only need Sky multiroom or Sky broadband if you are wanting to use this service for free! i.e. you can get any channels (That are available on sky player aswell) that you recieve on your current sky package for free on the Pc/Xbox sky player IF you have sky multiroom or broadband!
#34
got one
#35

Well that's the point...

If you have multiroom - it's FREE

it's not saying you need multiroom if you are already paying for it. You don't need to pay twice.
#36
Mine's arrived, thanks again. Can confirm that the remote is retail packed, with a cardboard outer containing the vouchers. Going to sell the media remote and 3 month code separately I reckon.

Can I Run This Through An Xbox Arcade Or Do I Need Hardrive??

Is it true you have to pay for the first month then you get your second month free?

just quoting this from the game reviews

"
stephen holmes posted on 10 Feb 2010
im affraid to say that you do get charged once you redeem your code, to get your free one month you have to enter your debit or credit card details, then you choose a package that suits you. if you leave it as its stands you pay £34.50 which is debited as soon as your registration is complete, if you remove the sports packages you will pay £14.99. So yes you get your free month then you go into the next month that you have already paid for. Then during this month (the 2nd month) they will debit you again unless you have cancelled. Its just a catch to get you to sign up,why else would they give you a month for free"
