This was on before Xmas and the tag said end 28th dec! May be extended. Was gonna go for it but didn't wanna drive all the way into the city in the end! Good if you want to get some money back for the game.

that is the Argos deal that comes with six standard games. I was originally going for that until i found out that you have to reserve all the items from one store. If you separate them they charge full price

F**** you, i just got one two days ago!!!!!!

Still, hot.

Sliwka, without meaning to sound rude the price of a PS3 has absolutely nothing to do with this.

Good price - have some heat

Sorry for my language, but it's my opinion,PS3 is just better solution to play some games and watch some blu-rays, besides i've seen so many better deals of new Xbox before. Deals after christmas should be better then this

Your pro-PS3 trolling has no relevance in an Xbox 360 thread. Base your statement on the deals not personal taste. I too favour PS3s but if this is one of the cheapest around then it must be a hot deal. Simples.

Hot, but i'd only consider it if the online gaming became free.

Oh look a PS3 fan boy...

Got both, the ps3 is not in the same class for gaming as the xbox.

Agree.. got both too and the xbox is far better...

anyone know if the 4gig can be fitted with a harddrive or can play original x-box games ? read all harddrive ones can but the emulator needs diskspace.

ta, tempted to pick one of the newer ones up as i don't want a secondhand one to brick after half a year

I wish my local tesco would stock the newer "slim" 360s ARGH! the only ones they sell is arcades lol (tons of old stock no doubt)

Well, there are many tutorials on youtube on how to put an old 360 HDD into the new 360 (just take it out the case and fill it with foam so it doesn't fall out!) and the new 360 HDD can be bought and put into this (BUT WHY, WHY NOT JUST BUY THE NEWER VERSION AND SAVE £20)

You can use USBs to save games but some games like Halo: Reach need a HDD to play online.

If I were looking for a new Xbox 360 S, I would buy a 250GB one.

i need help, can anyone give me a good reason to justify buying this that i can say to my wife?
#21
Luke warm, minus the value of the game the console is still the wrong side of £100.

Anyway, loving the Xbox fanboys saying it's better than the PS3 without actually saying why...

Because some of us are fed up with the Piano Black and it's tendancy to attract dust, fingerprints and anything else that goes near it, hence we like 4GB for the matt finish, that's WHY :-)

Cross platform games are generally much better on Xbox, on some games it's only a slight difference, but on others - like Red Dead Redemption the difference is quite noticeable, with RDR on the PS3 not even able to run in true 1080p and the landscapes being stripped of details to keep the framerate steady.

Another plus point is the fact that Xbox 360 has many more games than the PS3, and in my opinion has had the best exclusive titles such as Halo/Gears of War/Mass Effect etc etc

Then you have party chat, which is great - better online functionality (granted, you have to pay for it - but it's worth it for serious gamers)

The controller is another clear win for Xbox 360 over PS3 - much better layout and design, more comfortable to use.

However, moving on from just "games consoles" the Sony PS3 is a far better multimedia device, with blu-ray, iPlayer and a good web-browser it demolishes the 360 in the general non-gaming entertainment area.

Some of it's exclusives are great as well, such as Uncharted - however, Gran Turismo 5 was really disappointing. Turn 10 put out two good Forza games in the time it took them to make GT5 and it just seemed so half arsed.

MAG on the other hand is the best multiplayer shooter to ever grace a console in my opinion, fantastic game - that alone justifies owning a PS3.

My conclusion would be to have a PS3 in your living room for all-round entertainment, blu-ray functionality, PlayTV recorder etc and to have an Xbox in your bedroom for serious gaming.

They're both great machines, both have their strengths and weaknesses - however if you're rating them solely on their "gaming" credibility, then there's only one winner - Xbox 360 simply by the quality and quantity of it's games.

I'm not really a "fanboy" so to speak though, but that's my opinion of the consoles. (I have both!)

Fortunately I could afford to buy both so the console wars is nothing more than a hilarious waste of time to me. Ahhhhhh....... the joys of personal wealth

Activision are offering to exchange PS3 owners Black Ops copies because the online experience is so dreadful.

basically, you get what you pay for, and xbox live is sooooo much better.

xbox build quality is solid these days. (was previously awful).

the controllers are superior.

you can get skyplayer through xbox: so essentially free multiroom if you already have sky.

USB compatibility means you can watch downloaded films through the xbox, and bluray players are ten a penny these days.

I wouldn't swap for a PS3. For me there's no upside.
