For the gears of war one, when it says trade in a slim 360 250gb does that mean I have to pass over the controller as well? What about the leads etc? Does it have to come with the original box?

Don't see why anyone would trade in a 4gb for a 250gb for £99 when it's cheaper just to buy a new 250 or 320gb HHD

Don't understand why you would trade in a 4GB slim and pay £100 for a 250 when u can just buy a hard drive far cheaper?

No idea but to trade in an 120gb elite that youve had for ages and could run the risk of RROD, it must be a good deal imo.

once you factor in the trade its a bit of a pointless deal, looked hot untill the trade part

if you've had your Elite for ages it's not going to RROD now and if it does just get another preowned with 12 month warranty and you're still quids in against this deal

Microsoft increased the warranty on the XBOX RROD by 3 years. this would suggest the risk can go up to or beyond the warranty window.

So can you get a 250GBS 360 plus one of those games for £99.99 pre-owned?

I also thought the warranty for second hand consoles was 6 months, but i may be wrong!

I am curious about this too.

I would guess at it being the console, HD and power lead but can anyone confirm?

Toying with the idea of this upgrade as the extra HD would be useful, the elite is quite noisy and a new warranty would be reassuring. The bundled game could be sold to reduce the cost more.

you need to trade in everything that came with the 250gb apart from the wired headset, and don't get fooled by game, tell them to price match cex for the console and you'll get the gears of war 3 bundle for £77 extra instead of £100 :)
trade in price for 250gb slim (boxed) at cex is £123

I have a 120 elite and to me its decent deal, however lets say i already have Gears 3, could i use that to trade in and reduce the price? Also i have a bunch of old games I wouldn't mind trading in, could i use those again to reduce the price?

yes u can, but don't expect a high trade in price for gears of war 3 as game is selling gow 3 for £14.99 pre-owned, :)

Whats the sort of prices for old games, Street Fighter 4 for example?

just use cex trade-in prices or the hmv app and see what you get and then get game to price match them,

Don't get much do you! only reason i am thinking is because i have a kinnect coming for christmas and don't fancy the ring of death

Anyone got any suggestions, should i just keep the old one and risk the RROD?
wishy100#18
For anyone with a 120gb Elite this has to be a tempting offer, it certainly is for me! More gb, new slimmer quieter console with a warranty and a game all for £99, the only people voting this cold are the people to which this has no relevance! Hot! Thank you!

I'd say get the new one for piece of mind. Edit: Pretty much what wishy said.

I sold my Elite after getting a new slim in the Sainsburys deal. In all I spent about £60 doing the upgrade. Taking into account the hassle of selling and the time spent on both transactions this is a very good trade and I would recommend it. The slim is so much quieter and with a new warranty it makes sense to go for it if you want to upgrade. Sell the game on too if you want to save a bit more money.

This deal should be hotter.
