Set during the aftermath of World War III, the fourth instalment in the role playing series moves further into the far reaches of space.

One of Japans most celebrated role playing series, Star Ocean combines the traditional elements of Japanese role playing games with a futuristic science fiction style. Star Ocean The Last Hope puts further emphasis on these science fiction elements as players explore deep space to discover the origins of the universe. Striking visuals are matched by dazzling pre-rendered cut scenes created by Visual Works, best known for their work on the Final Fantasy series.

Dropping a staple of Japanese role playing, Star Ocean The Last Hope forgoes typical turn-based battles, instead giving players a real-time combat system that allows all four members of a players party to remain active at one time. For the first time players can also command and control the Calnus spaceship during missions.

By focusing on its science fiction roots and giving players more control over their actions, Star Ocean The Last Hope provides a unique fantasy world that stands out from the Xbox 360s role playing line-up.

I have this and have just about finished it and this is so underrated. The 360 isnt known for JRPG's but this is one of the best if not the best. Certainly better than the likes of Lost Oddysey, Last Remnant etc. I think on the 360 this game is only bested by Eternal Sonata personally

WOW! lol seriously can't believe the prices of games lately.

I got this for £18 on pre order, didn't mind paying that price at all as big fan of this series.

It's an amazing game, however story is not as good as the other games in the series though the game is very fun, stacked over 120 hours on it and still had a lot left to do (side stuff, main game was about 50-60hours on normal mode).

I have now sold this game but only due to them bringing it out on ps3, and I would much prefer it on ps3 and I am going to buy it again on ps3.

I would buy an xbox360 just for this game, but that is because I am a big Star Ocean fan, at £11 it is an absolute steal and if you are into these games it is a no brainer, buy it! - my friend paid £14 for it 2nd hand not so long ago...

HOT!

Is there alot of difference? (serious question)

Tescoentertainment are *****, sorry but it needs to be said.

I tried to order this with my voucher, forgot to log in first. As soon as I logged in the price had reset and my code was suddenly invalid.

Way to screw me over for a second time! NEVER shopping with tesco entertainment again, no matter HOW good their offers.

You need to enter it in correctly. It says the voucher is applied at the bottom of the page, my brothers just done it now, on the back of me asking him to go through his account. Secretly im just going to borrow his game.

Agree about Star Ocean being underated but Don't agree with the rest of what you said, I like almost all the JRPGs on the 360, the PS3 also isn't known for JRPGS as they don't sell particularly well on either machine in the west no matter how good they are, I really don't know why.

I don't think this comes to the PS3 until the end of Feb 2010 unless I missed something..........

And don't forget to LOG IN BEFORE you use any vouchers or they will disappear and then come up as already used when you do log in (this happened to me when the Left for dead 2 at £15 didn't happen and they sent me a £2 voucher)..........

The PS2 was the biggest JRPG platform, but not many are popular on any platform in the west, apart from Final Fantasy, which we all will have to wait until some time next year to play, unless you can speak Japanese and import the PS3 version, but there are a lot of good JRPG's out there if you can find them.
Feb 2010 is correct chelskii

not really lol, but I am not playing it at the moment and I do not trust my xbox, the high end dungeons, sometimes you can be in them for 8hours and you can not save, if you leave you have to start again, as it is randomoly generated floors...I think I would prefer to use my ps3 for that.

Saying that my newest xbox has been very reliable so far.

The trailor did look alot better on ps3, the most recent one but trailors always look good. It's probably not worth waiting for the ps3 one unless you are a huge fan, I would buy this if you are not a huge fan, I always wanted it on ps3 though, and I prefer the ps3 controller and I hoping they add extras like they did on the international version of till the end of time (SO3)

top bargain 8.97 minus quidco with tesco code

Great price ! Got with the tesco code, have been wanting this game at a decent price for a very long time. Squareenix games have a habit of staying high on the price side

Make sure the code is correct to the account email address. I tried one and did that because I used it from someone elses account.

Grr the codes you get sent in the post don't work on here! I havn't received any codes via email and I get emails from Tesco all the time! And I'm always using my clubcard instore and buying online.

Does anyone have any unused codes that they're happy to share?
