GameStation are selling the Official Xbox 360 Universal Media Remote for the Xbox 360 for £5.99 + £1.00 Delivery.

You can get cashback on this through the usual sites (e.g. 5% Quidco, making this just £6.64)

Next best price seem to be £14.98 from Amazon.

Note: GameStation is one of the companies PC World lists in it's Price Promise. I could not find the remote on their website, but if PC World do sell it in store, then you can get the remote from PC World for the same price minus an extra 10% of the difference.

Good price, essential for using the xbox as a dvd player.. but not needed if your planning on purchasing the hd-dvd drive (as its in the box)

Worth getting if only so that you can turn your XBox of remotely when you've finished gaming.
I'm so lazy.

You can do that with the normal control, just hold the guide button for a few seconds until a menu comes up.

Anyone know how well this works with the media player. I take it you can turn on the tv with this too.
#17
Which media player do you mean?

And yes it can turn your tv on and off and also control the volume and the channel.

using the xbox as a media player. the only thing i dont like about using the controller is that it turns off. so when the ads come i have to turn it on and then forward. im assuming the remote stays on.

Yep, works like a charm, no need to switch the remote back on. I always find it handy to use when I'm streaming music from my PC whilst playing games, it's an easy way to pause / skip tracks etc. At this price, it's a bargain. Voted hot.

The XP/Vista MCE remotes can be had on ebay for as little as 99p not inc postage and yes they work just fine on the 360 :)
#23
Does this work on plain old XP? I.e, can I control WMP?
