Can you just buy 100 points for 85p then or do u have to buy 1000 or whatever it is sold in...
#2
you have to buy 2100? ish I think which is a major bummer :-( I also read this as to buy not to rent :-( oh well, i've dl'd it anyway :-)
#3
Think the title should clearly state 'for rent'.
[helper]#4
You are renting this - not buying. Once you have watched it, then you can no longer view it (ie you can only view it once). Also I think you have 14 days to view the film after downloading, after that you lose it.

Still cheaper than renting from Blockbuster etc
#5
little as 500 MSP can be purchased i think
#6
nutta
little as 500 MSP can be purchased i think

yep at £4.25

You have 14 days or 24 hours after selecting play to watch it
Plus you can watch a rental as many times as you can before the time expires.

whats with the cold votes???

if you have an XBOX 360 > then you would know that the video marketplace is for renting movies, not buying them!

sheesh > talk about using every excuse possible.

its 85p [aka 100MSP], for 300 in HD!
& if you even planned on using the VMP, then you wouldnt be whining about having to purchase a minimum of 500 points [2100/4200 @ GAME]

anyway > i'll be downloading it, seeing as its such a grea........actually, i have it on HD DVD :p

# just put *RENT* into the title for all those nOObs out there :whistling:

# sorry for the rant, but i hate it when people complain about good deals > if you dont like it, then go do something else on the 28th
#8
cheers for the post. hot
#9
Didn't vote earlier so here's a hot one ;-)

The future is NOW!

Bye Bye Blockbusters!

No! I'm away until the 30th.....that's just great.

Voted hot for awesomeness though! I'll still end up paying £3, just got the experience of it all
#12
great find...heat added...

shame i already own this on HD DVD i wanna try out a HD rental
#14
Great because there's probably quite a few people who have the odd 100 points spare in their account.

Not so great because the Video Marketplace will get spanked on that day, and it'll take forever to download (even on my 12mb connection)

Even worse for me, my £5 copy of 300 on DVD arrived from HMV today

Still voted hot, so long as Live survives the stampede
#15
Cool, how big is it to download a HD movie tho? I like the idea, but I'm on 2meg so it would probably take me from the 28th - 30th of Dec just to even download it right?
#16
Tis a hot deal, man! The HD movies on VMP are great quality! It may have taken me three days to download The Matrix, but once it was done it was awesome quality! Looking forward to this already!
#17
Shame the sound in ALL MOVIES on Xbox Marketplace is stereo, not Dolby Digital. :-(

Blockbuster is safe for a while...
#18
Hopefully things like this will happen a lot, I can see me using this quite a lot if they do. I'd defo get this but already own it on hddvd.

Voted hot!

SD is 1.2GB & 720p HD is 5.1GB :)

btw: it doesnt matter when your download finishes, just when you start it > purchase it on 28th & finish download before 14days [dont watch the movie while its downloading if you think its gonna more than 24hrs; or the movie will expire before you've downloaded it]

well worth a rental: SD is normally 360MS Points [£3.23]
HD is normally 540MS Points [£4.59]

:santa:

If it was me, id turn on the option to have the xbox turn itself off after a download completes than just leave it on overnight downloading..
#22
Id have to download this out of peak hours as thats 25% of my monthly allowance with plusnet :w00t:
#23
100 pts for 720 HD version of 300 is a BARGAIN voted HOT ....

However i dont think 540MS (£4.59) is a good price considering you have to download it in the firstplace (Costing you money for your broadband maybe more for the extra bandwidth !!!) and i think Hd-Dvd's & Blu-Ray titles will most probably sell for around £15 which you can then watch how many times as you want, £2 a pop would be much more like it.
#24
i still have about 500 points left and i haven't seen this movie yet so nice deal. 85p is HOT!
#25
be carful when you download this or other films, lots of people are reporting that there download crahses half way though and they cant download it again or get a refund. there about 6gb in size.

yes, this happened to me on VMP launch day > i just removed download from queue & downloaded/added it again > started working about 10 mins after leaving it alone :)

btw: could have been a launch day rush ;-) every1 downloading @ the same time
#27
nice find will let the rest of my buddies xbl know about this baby
#28
I had bought and downloaded Matrix HD before and that got corrupted on first attempt of downloading. So I had to delete the partial file and re-download it (as long as you've not played it, you still have the 14 days to download it). I found it's more reliable if you set your Xbox to download files while powering down and just leave it overnight.

Shame 300's not a better film otherwise I may have been tempted by this deal.
#29
This is a Hot Deal...85p is a great price. I've been put off at paying the full price for these movies, particularly the really old ones that can be bought very cheaply anyway.

300 is the most up to date film available to download at the moment and who can complain at that price.....:)
#30
It would be great if it didn't take about 18 hours to download on my [email protected] internet !!!!
#31
Good price. They should give you more than 24 hours to watch the film though. Don't always have time to watch a whole film what with 3 kids etc. They should give you 48-72 hrs before it expires. Will def try this service once a few more HD films are available that i haven't seen.
#32
Now, when are things coming out in 1080p? ;)
#33
It looked great in SD, I'd love to see it in HD. Maybe i should get a Xbox 360.

i dont have a 1080p HDTV, but i do hope they start releasing movies in 1080p for all those who'd be able to use it.

720p movies are generally between 5GB & 6.5GB

1080p movies are around 8GB & 9GB :)

i'd say you should > just get one of the new HDMI consoles from 'GAME' & you'll be RROD free [general hardware failure]
#38
People do know that the 360 does background low power downloading now don't they? It needs to be turned on in the system blade but it basically goes into low power mode when you turn it off (not at the mains obviously) and fully turns off after d/ls finish.

read a couple of the earlier posts, they seem to complain about anything > maybe even if they got paid as part of the deal :w00t:

What happens if you only have a 2gb download limit with your ISP??
