Or £4.97 if you have one of those £5 off vouchers from the booklet.

Seems like a decent price, and will also work on PC.

So..... much more expensive.

I imagine most people, myself included, don't give a sh*t what colour the plastic is.

Unless you play fighting games I'm not sure you can really justify the price hike. Not once in a game (that wasn't Tekken or Street Fighter) have I thought "I wish this D-Pad was more responsive.

That and, for a fiver, if you can find this pad you really can't go wrong ha ha. Even if just as a back up.

Heat from me.

Off topic but the 360 controller d-pad is awful. Try playing pac man!

Would buy another pad for a fiver but doubt I'll find this in my local.. :(

More importantly - wired is technically superior; it doesn't need batteries & has lower input latency.

and it's more comfortable to hold than that the wireless with the big battery pack sticking out :) These are great for PC as well - absolutely no driver issues at all with Vista/Windows 7, and are the standard for console ports to PC.

Sadly all my local branches stopped selling these long ago, it was the first thing I looked for when the £5 voucher deal went live, so good luck finding one. A fine bargain if you do!

Bit pedantic of you there...i think he means there are no external batteries to keep changing.

Wired controllers are ok if you are sitting close to the tv/console but wireless ones are just so much more convenient and less unsightly

How can what is pretty much gauranteed as a store specific clearance product reach 500+ degrees, when the OP hasnt even told us which store for Christs sake!?
#31
Yeah, this deal seems pretty poor. Theres less chance of us getting this than a Xbox Arcade for 65 quid :)

Yeah but wired is so rubbish. I'm sure everyone hates getting all the wires tangled up and having knots to undo, or cats/dogs biting the cable, and that's not mentioning having to sit so close to the TV.
I sit about about 20ft from my TV so wireless is awesome.
#33
I still cant get over "wired" ??? - im no spring chicken but even to me that sounds prehistoric. I mean.....surely youd be better paying even double/treble and gettting it wireless - they arent that expensive in the greater scheme of things, not even the price of an average game!!

my battery packs have failed so my £25 'wireless' controllers are always plugged in anyway!
#35
Is it just me, or is this thread full of trolls?

It's a wired 360 controller for Windows, and it's £4.99 when using a freely available voucher.
Comparing & contrasting wired vs wireless has absolutely nothing to do with this roasting hot deal.

More important, where can I get the controller?

Great voting as usual fellow HUKD'ers.

Yep had the same pad for ages but gone through 4 battery packs I just leave it plugged in now easier and cheaper! Won't bother with another wireless pad again. My PS3 one on the other hand has been perfect since day one holds it's charge no isses there.

It's possible that the contacts on the pad/battery pack get worn down over time and so not getting a proper connection when charging etc, obviously the PS3 doesn't suffer from this as the pack is built in, and can also be changed if it fails if you are handy with a screwdriver! ;)

20ft?! Why on earth would you do that unless for movies? Whats the point in a big screen if your just going to sit a mile away from it! I sit with my feet either side of my 32inch when im gaming so I can see every detail :P
