I dont think all stores have birthday cards
#2
can you buy a controler for £20 with a £35 adapter?
#3
Pretty good price if people missed out on the Amazon deal. Even cheaper if eligible for student discount.
#4
should be able to, price tag usually says "19.99 when bought with any item" on controller

Lol! I can't see it happening though!

i love these offers from Game, saw somebody do this the other day. You pay less for buying more! He bought a Pokemon toy - only £2, they were in a container by the till if you can't find the cards.

Or maybe you could buy the PS3 'trigger pads', only a couple of quid too!
#6
yeh u can. I actually asked the staff for the cheapest item and they told me the cards for 20p. :)
#7
I remember buying a penny guide to get a deal 4.99 cheaper :)
#8
£44.99 for the adapter on the website, so looks like instore is best idea:thumbsup:
#9
Sorry, didn't see this earlier. As a side note, the Braehead stores seem to have this for £34.99 without the need to buy any additional item. They also had plenty in stock, loads on the wall in the plastic containers, you know the kind, the ones you can't open without some kind of blade and a good chance of a trip to A&E.

my bro got the controller for 20 quid with a spiderman birthday card for my nephew the other day lol

Yeh I asked too, but the cheapest Item my store had was a preowned copy of This Is Football 2003 on the PS2 for 98p... Wouldn't allow further discounts on top as it is a promo. As was gonna get a mate to get store discount as he works in the same shopping centre as the Game and usually gets 10% off.

Is it only the Xbox 360 wireless adapter that's compatible with the xbox 360? Or can I use a netgear adapter?

its only the official Wireless Adapter & this one: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Max-Wireless-Adapter-Xbox-360/dp/B000ENREM0 that are compatible with the XBOX 360.

any other USB adapter wont work.

there are other ways to connect to XBL (other than Ethernet), but they arn't the most ideal IMO - either ethernet or official wireless are the best options :)

Is this all colours of controllers or just white? I want a black one to match Elite. Cheers!

Why on earth would anyone on a 360 deal want them ?, the 360 has those trigger type pads built in they are for the poor PS3 controller shortcomings.

Good deal Voted HOT on OP deal...

Why try and start a ps3 vs 360 flame war? Pointless.

Agreed, however it's what he does, most of us have the inteligence to know that the poster who suggested the pads was just trying to be helpful suggesting a cheap item.

Better to spend a bit more for an external ethernet bridge such as the excellent Buffalo Nfiniti Wireless-N Dual Band Ethernet Converter. This has the advantage of supporting WPA2 encryption, faster wireless N and 4 ethernet ports for all your other network items. The WLI-TX4-AG300N is available for about £55 so not too much more than the single function Xbox wireless device that is less secure, slower and less flexible.

Sometimes spending a little more will be worth while in the long run

Now now children. Don't make me take the ball of you. Now go on, play nice outside

Finally, one of these has been found at a very good price & my 360 has just died (the tray won't stay shut & its out of its warranty)!

Picked one up with a £1.95 Mario ball thingy and paid £35.66, guy behind the counter said he'd been recommending the same tactic to customers all morning. Hot.

The Buffalo WLI-TX4-AG300N acts as a wireless ethernet bridge. In simple terms it is like extending your wireless routers ethernet ports to a remote location!

Any device connected to the WLI-TX4-AG300N ethernet sockets get assigned an IP just as though it were plugged into the router. All over a secure WPA 2 (assuming you configured this in the wireless router) via high speed wireless N standard (again assuming your router supports this standard).

You set it up by running a small config program that sets the wireless section to connect with your router then enable DHCP and now locate the box anywhere you want 4 extra ethernet ports!

Have a look at the details on Buffalos site here.

How old is it ?.

About 3 years old, so its well out of warranty. Was wondering about trying one of the home fixes :whistling:, because I'm not paying Microsoft £90 to repair it !

My nearest Game wouldn't do me the deal. They said I had to buy a new 360 game to qualify and even then, I could only have one wireless adapter. I stated that on the poster behind them it says, Wireless adater 34.99 when bought with ANY 360 console or ANY 360 game. They refused to sell me one with a 360 game costing 3.99 claiming that the offer wouldn't get processed. Does anyone know where I stand with this?
#34
Just bought one from my local Game.

Price is £58.71 with £25 off when bought with something else.

I bought a little Mario Kart DS figure for £1.95 (for my daughter I may add!) so my total bill was £35.66! Brilliant as when I went to order from Amazon Monday they put the price back to £44.99!

:) Hot Deal!

If its over 3 years old then they still won't fix it. The RROD warranty covers 3 years max. You must have gotten it at launch because it was launched on Nov 22nd 2005, so the 3 years is only just up for the earliest adopters. Sell it for spares on eBay and buy a new one, they're only just over £100 now

I went to GAME especially today to get this offer as Amazon seem to not have a clue when they are getting more of the wireless adapters in they just keep making up dates as they go along. There was no sign of the offer in GAME though they were all marked up at £59.99. The wireless controllers had the £19.99 when purchased with something else stickers on them but there was nothing on the Wireless adapter other than the £59.99 sticker. I would have asked but the queue was stretching all the way to the back of the store even with all the tills open and I needed to get to work.

Seiously. And I did phone the head office but they were just as hopeless. It seems there doesn't seem to be any terms and conditions associated with this offer as the manager couldn't provide them for me and neither could head office. It seems its more down to manager discretion, and unfortunately for me, the manager of my nearest Game is a tw*t!

I went into Game in Cambridge today, I too picked up the Wireless Adapter and nothing was mentioned on the box, other than at £59.99 sticker but I did see a poster by the Xbox 360 Games advising that if you bought an Xbox360 Console or an Xbox360 Game then you can the Wireless Adaptor for £34.99 - but I also found the Wireless Headset was on offer down to £19.99 from £34.99 if you bought it with anything else in store according to the stinker on the item. The same poster mentioned that you could get the Wireless Headset for £19.99 if you bought an Xbox360 Console or Xbox360 Game, so I managed to track one of the staff down and asked them if i bought both items together, I would get the offer price for both, she went away and checked and sure enough she said yep.

So today I got my nephew the Wireless Adapter and Wireless Headset for under £48, which meant I managed to save £40 for both items... He'll he a happy boy this Christmas and me by saving the cash :santa:
