25 quid would be a VERY good price for the special, silver edition - but when that can be had for a fiver more then it's hard to find reason to purchase this one.

Sorry but I don't feel the colour warrants £5 more you realise this has a charger too ?

Nope it doesnt warrant the extra £5 at all.

The guy posting above is probably referring to the slightly improved, but ultimately still terrible d-pad on the newer controllers.

It's all down to the individual - the Dpad offers a noticeable improvement for some (myself included) and not so much for others, presumably those with massive sausage fingers.

For one, my scores on pacman have tripled and I'm no longer accidentally hitting up rather than right and left when I'm navigating the dashboard.

Would it be possible to use this (via the play and charge connection) on my PC until the wireless receiver arrives?

I'm afraid not, the USB lead that connects the wireless 360 pad to the 360 is simply a power lead and not a data lead.

With this pad, you'll have to have the PC wireless adapter.

You can get the silver controller for £29.99 with a play and charge kit. I would also argue that it's not worth an extra £4.47 to get it in a different colour, but the silver controller is a revised design with a new style D-pad, so that's what you're paying for. Personally I've never had a problem with the old D-pad, although it's not great, and would rather have a black controller so this is a graet deal for me.

How do you get this for £25.52? Went into Tesco today and black controllers were marked at £25.52, black controllers with play and charge kits are marked at £32. So what's this 'bit of messing about' that you speak of?
