Rubbish deal, the PS3 comes with this bundled :-D

Joking, but thought I'd get it in before the PS3 fanboys jump in as they seem to do with EVERY 360 thread (anyone would think they were paranoid about their beloved DVD players!!). I dont know if this is a good deal or not as I have heard very different opinions

I have one and think it's good. The only complaint I have is it's difficult to know when voice is switched on/off. I suppose that's just the price you pay for it being 100% wireless.

Been caught out by that before, broadcast a whole "have you been on that thing all morning, haven't you even done th pots yet" telling off from the wife to a full COD4 session  its so offputting when the other users keep shouting "ave you done the pots yet!!" :-D

My point exactly lol. I've also had my share of embarrassing conversations accidentally broadcast to a lobby full of COD players .

Can anyone find any deals to compare with this so I can see if it is a good price or not?

Have these improved since they first come out? A few mates had them on release and the amount of crackle and distortion was horrible so I chose not to get one.
Have to say though that I thought that they were this price "normally" so not a great deal IMO. If it turns out they were more expensive though I apologise.

I've had one for over a year and it works great, was previously £20 on offer in gamestation at christmas IIRC but I doubt it's still that price.

If you don't mind second hand, they are £18 at CEX in store or at cex.co.uk.

My son started of with an offical one which quickly went faulty. He is now on to a cheap copy one. Does the trick just as well!

You'll probably laugh your socks off at my question but here goes.....

Does any bluetooth headset work with Xbox or PS3.

I have one that came with my mobile phone and dont use it...feel a bit of a moron with it on to be honest...my son wants one for his PS3 game. Can he use mine.

Yes you can start laughing now...but honestly i am serious....

Not a stupid question , they probably COULD as the base tech will no doubt be the same, however, MSoft & Sony like money so I would assume that they are locked out so that you have to buy their specific/ compatibles only. The same applies to the (expensive) 120Gb HD for the 360, however, those clever mod people have got around that so they may have done the same with this????

I have to go against Frakison's theoretical point he's making and say that:

1) PS3 uses standard bluetooth tech and my new Sony Ericsson 708 earpiece will work with a PS3 even though I'm buying it to use with a phone. Most decent bluetooths earpieces should work with PS3, check the compatibility list with it on the net. No modding should be necessary, should be connect and play.

2) No, the wealth of bluetooth sets on the market will not work with Xbox, you need either official or a third party headset designed for Xbox use. I have the official wireless myself and it works fine for me.
Someone mentioned you never know when it's on or off and that embarrassing conversations can be broadcast. Not true. When you have it muted, it emits a beep every few seconds to remind you that nobody can hear you and that you might want to unmute it.. If there's no beeb, you're broadcasting to your Live mates, as long as it's powered up and connected, and a green light on the earpiece, that you can see while wearing it, lets you know that it's on...

I'm OK with being corrected, but you kind of confirmed what I had said anyway?!!? I said I was unsure and looked for confirmation, you could have just given that instead of putting the point scoring bit "I have to go against....". Anyway, I hope that the OP has had his/ her question answered.

Suggest your's is either faulty or your connection is bad, I've never experienced that sort of problem unless I have a weak connection

thanks i will check compatability and give it a go.

You don't really sound like you are ok being corrected. You sounded like you were guessing and I had some facts. I tried to be delicate with my answer and was thinking of the query, not scoring points against anyone.

Forums encourage debate and opposing or supporting views, if you can't handle being wrong, I recommend not guessing at something and maybe researching a few facts?

Calm down mate, as I said, I was OK with being corrected (I clearly stated that I wasn't in a position to give confirmation), it was HOW you corrected, PLUS if you READ what I said you actually CONFIRMED most of what I had presumed anyway. As for you research comment I have not got the time to research OTHER PEOPLES queries, however, I was trying to help, shame it takes point scoring to get SOME people to contribute ehh?? .... BTW, theres a difference between being right and coming across as a bit of an ar5e :-D

Yes it does emit a discreet beep every 10 seconds when the voice is off but that doesn't really help. And if you're in the middle of a match it becomes even harder to keep track of whether or not you have voice turned on/off. And I don't know about you but I don't have eyes on the side of my head so cannot see the green on/off light on the mic while wearing it. The real world reality of it is that it' can be difficult to keep track of when you are and are not broadcasting. To simply say someone else's experience of using the product is "not true" comes across as a bit arsey.

The original point I was making was that compared to the old style wired mics which plug directly into the controller and have the on/off button in clear view, these wireless headsets can are harder to quickly tell when you're broadcasting/not.

Is that the kinda money they go for? Geeze...Might be a good deal but sounds expensive to me. I got both a 360 and a PS3 and I got the official PS3 headset and a brand new release game for £28-29!

Hot deal if it's the cheapest I guess.
