I'm surprised they accepted a hd-dvd as a 360 product as it's only connection is the 360 has an optional hd-dvd add-on. Good deal though.

I cant understand why people buy these. You can get a set of dlan adpaters for the same price and you can connect ANYthing to them and get full ethernet quality speeds with no setup hassle.

Wifi is just useless for online gaming and video streaming. I keep saying it but once again its garbage.

People buy dlan adapters and its "I see the light" Seriously this is a good price but wifi adapter for the 360 but wifi for games consoles is a complete waste of time. EVERYTHING interferes with and blocks wifi, the latest one I spotted is if a microwave is running it will completely knock out the wifi signal in our entire house. WIrelless alarms, video senders etc etc etc etc.

Good price, **** technology for gamming consoles get youself a couple of dlan adapters instead !

What utter rot. So for the past three years my 360 hasn't worked for online gaming and video streaming? No, you're talking out of your backside, take your lies elsewhere.
#9
I've had no problems whatsoever connecting wirelessly to my consoles.
#10
i just use an ethernet cable from my laptop to my 360 and that works fine. no need to buy this, but it is a hot deal for those who do want one as you cant get much cheaper for official items.

Was there a point?

I'll have your xbox if your going to bin it.
#15
The bin? Then you're even sillier than your friend who sold you this for a tenner. Why not just sell the Xbox?
#16
bought this in game today for £34.99. i had to buy a 49p dvd giftbox at the same time. so if game is nearer to you than gamestation this could work out better for you.

total cost £35.48.
#17
Its not lies you just dont understand what a decent connection is and or dont play games online (or have the router sat on top of the xbox)

Been a few dlan adapter deals posted on here recently.

Come again son? My router is downstairs.... I stream video from my laptop to my xbox, play online games....Perfectly I should add. So I really dont know what your talking about unless your house has lead walls and you keep your router in the celler :whistling:

COLD: just buy 'la fonera' instead. Got mine second hand for £2, but easy to pick up for under a tenner....all u need to make ur 360 wireless.
#21
wi-fi will suffer from signal degradation. i have my ps3 and router in the same L shape room but with a brick wall corner in the way. wi-fi gives me 85%-90% connection strength. if i open the lounge door it drops to 75%, with a cable i obviously get 100%.

if you dont notice any lag than that 85% connection is fast enough for you, its just not as fast as it could be.
#22
I have my PC upstairs in my bedroom and stream 720p WMV-HD to my Xbox 360 downstairs with instant playback, and checking my *Windows task manager* under networking, it only uses 9-11% of the 54Mps connection.
Even 1080p wouldn't take more than 50% of the connection, so I don't quite know what everyone's fretting about:-D

Stupid comment from another sony fan boy. Saying it to look hard... Only thing is I'm not sure if you would be more retarded for saying it and not following it through or if you actually went ahead with it.
#24
Ironic how when the PS3 is mentioned 'wireless isn't important' but as soon as a wireless adapter item is listed you guys are voted it hot like there's no tomorrow.

You dont NEED 100% signal strength to have a good gaming connection, please dont let personal preference cloud your judgement. I have just installed one in to my 360 and I CANNOT tell the difference over wired while gaming. Maybe not so good for streaming but I dont do it so dont care....... thats what I have a DIVX DVD player for :whistling:

There way overpriced but wifi is fine for streaming and gaming. I think most products still use the slower 1/10/100 base ethernet which is slower than n draft wifi
#29
I had problems with the official MS adapter, possibly due to compatibility with the BT Homehub. Anyway, I got really bad lag spikes, so I sold the adapter and got the Belkin Wireless Gaming adapter instead, which works much better :)
#30
Hot. No problems using O2/Thomson Router. No lag. Try changing channels on your router so it does not interfere with neighbours connection???? Got mine running on channel 6 and i have got no problems at all, even when using microwave etc. Router is approx 20 metres downstairs!!!

You may want to get your microwave checked for leaks in the screen then.... shouldn't be effecting anything like this

54Mbps is in bits so even at peak efficiency (which you would not get) you could only transfer 6.75 megabytes of data per second to your Xbox.
You could not stream a full HD high quality file over that, there just isn't enough bandwidth.
#33
buy it !! i got two 360`s one runs one of these and other one hard wired, on same router as each other and even when daughter on laptop draining more they both still have no lag when playing together, only time i have lag is if main pc is dowloading. think the people that say these are rubbish are the people that found £59 too much so "got round it" at this price a bargin and it sits neatly at the back. my 2pence worth :-)
#34
Just to clarify some simple mathematics/physics..... The adapter is capable of 54Mbps... my internet speed is at max 6 MB = 48Mbps, therefore, never gonna use that much for purposes of streaming divx video/online gaming therefore the natural effect of signal degredation is irrelevant unless, as said earlier, you have lead walls. I dont know what games you play, but there are none that I care to play that require a larger bandwidth than the above said.

Surely your internet is only 6Mbps? As far as I'm aware 48Mbps broadband doesn't yet exist commercially in this country. If it does then Virgin's recent 50Mbps accouncement isn't quite so impressive.

My internet is 6MB yes... translating to rough 48Mbps aka Mega BITs per second, not Mega BYTE...very confusing between Mbps and MB... Had to state it like that or might have got pulled up by a fellow techie for misleading people lol

Network speed is always measured in BITS not BYTES

Virgins new service is 50 megabits which divided by 8 bits in a byte gives 6.25 megabytes...
