Wow thanks!

Gonna give it a try
#3
its 10% of the difference so £36.90 as 10% of £21 is £2.10£39 - £2.10 is £36.90
#4
do I have to order first and then claim for a price match or call them and place a order after a price match?
#5
Hot! I have been looking for one of these and this is a cracking price.

Guys i wouldn't bother, because you will all end up wanting the new N router ....(black) Black Wireless 'N' Network Adapter - which will allow better and faster gaming, also allowing you to use HD SKY via the web.
just think for a while before you get one.
#9
Great thanks.

Sky HD works just fine over 802.11g here.
#11
works better for MOST on N i think thats why they designed one lol

But for those who aren't bothered about the crappy Sky package, then this is an excellent deal.

its not just sky ship mate its all about watching movies via your external hard drive as well that is if you know how to do it.....maybe you should stick with what you got....god what is it with people ...take the advice ffs!

I got my Xbox 360 Wireless Network Adaptor via Woolworths. Cost me £27 delivered 3 weeks ago!

This will make feck all difference to gaming, the gen 1 allows more then enough bandwith to cover what you need for gaming
..... Yes if you want to stream High Def then the N adaptor is better ... but thats about it.

SO if you only use the 360 for gaming, which to be honest most people do, then you dont need the N model.

Very very good point. I have been meaning to get one of these for a year now, but I am going to take your advice and wait.

woolworths ....who are they again lol

I was going to buy one of these years ago.

This is a good price for a very specific product.

I have one of these behing my TV (it basically converts wired ethernet to wireless).

http://www.broadbandbuyer.co.uk/Shop/Reviews.asp?ProductID=2375

I have my xbox , BT Vision box, TV and will soon plug my new Blu Ray player into it.

Anything with a normal ethernet plug can connect to it and "be wireless".

Great little device, and can be used with any device with an ethernet port (xbox included). Your not stuck like you would be with the XBOX specific adapter. Granted its only G, but around the same price as the XBOX adapater. I have not shopped around for it , so maybe available cheaper.
#19
we will see in good time, trust me use your xbox for more than gaming, you will be amazed what the little black box can do.....gone...to busy for childish banter
#20
quit replying then LOL ....
I do use my 360 for more ... However telling uninformed people this will make their gaming "faster & better" is a load of bull and leading people to waste money they dont have to..... At least agree with me on that part.
#21
Why are these things so expensive?????????

As above, do I buy it from Currys and then ask for the price match within 7 days ??

Anyone any tips for Currys price match, I've tried twice instore before and been fobbed off....

I have had this adapter for a couple of years now and it is superb. In regards to HD it works brilliantly. Zune currently stream 1080p HD movies and I had no problems at all!
#25
I think I've lost my Network Adapter. Which is one nof the most annoying things in the world.

So this is a deal and a half.
#26
I got mine through Very using £30 off £60 spend voucher plus free delivery, game is £55, make the order up to £60 and there you go, game and a stocking filler for £30 !!

Well, yes, kind of. However, some people now have an 'N' only network, and for those in old stone built properties where signal strength is a problem then N is better.

Also, for downloading those old X-Box games and you're on high speed internet, e.g. 50Mb Virgin, then having N will help with maxing out download speed over the wireless connection to your Router.
#28
You do need a n router to make any extra use from the new black box though .
#29
yeah if ur fortunate enough gamestop have these at £32.99

Can only find wireless adapter bundled with 12 month xbox live subscription for £69 on Currys website ???
#31
I'd recommend also looking at Ethernet over Power devices.
Higher throughput, but crucially - a lower ping (less latency), very important for a twitch FPS like Modern Warfare 2.
Something like this:

I know exactly what I'm doing with it, got mine all hooked up with my uPnP servers so i can see everything i want. I don't need wireless-N at this point, and if other people aren't too fussed about it, then this is a very good deal so I advise you to take other's opinions into consideration before you make blanket statements about what you perceive to be right for everyone else.

Why are these things so expensive?????????

Because they are made from crushed pixies that are only found in Narnia...... if you'd ever tried to catch one of these little blighters you'd appreciate the price! :p

SERIOUSLY, lets not get into the cost, just be content that they work well and thats what they cost in the same way that a Ferrari doesn't cost £100,000 to make either but still people pay "over the odds" to own one

Normuk's right!
Before you go and buy one of the Xbox 360 Wireless Network Adaptor things, just have a look around and see if you have an old wireless router and network cable laying about . If you do then see if you can configure the old wireless router/modem into Wireless Bridge` router mode!

http://www.pcmag.com/encyclopedia_term/0,2542,t=wireless+bridge&i=54762,00.asp

Plug a laptop or PC into the old router and configure it so it can see and get a connection to your wireless internet modem. I suspect this will be all on DHCP of course. Once that's done and you can see the internet from the laptop/PC plugged into your old router/modem, simply plug your Xbox360 in place of the laptop/PC and you should have saved yourself £36.90-£45.99 plus gained a few more network ports for other things to plug into.
Sorry if this explanation isn't to in-depth as I'm not at home just yet so I can't try it myself yet, but the principle is sound.

At least try it before you spend your money on something you might not actually need.

I've just found out that my old WD120GB laptop HDD, which I've just upgraded to a 320GB HDD, can be used as a new XB360 HDD!! I bought the £10 20GB+360HDD case from fleabay ages and ages ago thinking I'd mod my old 60GB 360 to a 250GB HDD. But for now the 120GB will do. So now I can stick it onto my new 360Arcade unit which I bought from HMV two days ago!
Don't let M$ have anymore of your hard earned cash!!!! :-)

Merry Christmas!!!
