Was just about to post this myself, can't believe it's cold already!

Voted hot :-)

what is wrong with people?
Microsoft make a fortune in profit on these things admittedly, but this is a good price!! :)
it doesn't stop being a deal, therefore HOT because a corporation make vast profit from it, if you can find it cheaper, where??! every time these things are posted they get immediate cold, peole don't even bother commenting as to why.
voted hot:thumbsup:

Good price, £2 cheaper than the one in Gamestation/Game I posted yday! Just wait for the cold/negative posts to flow in! :/ heat added :]
#4
I didn't see your post yesterday, can you post a link to it here please as I have gamestation vouchers!
#6
these work a treat and eliminate those damn cables
#7
So flippin expensive still.............
#8
Voted cold - it is overpriced and always has been - bought one of these for less than this ages ago. Its is not a deal at this price - should be less than £20 before any more silly threads.
#9
Bought from choices for £34.99 only last week.

Hardly the cheapest it's been
#10
Yes - its over priced at RRP, but this is cheaper than everywhere else for a new one. A second hand one would fetch this price. I've been looking for one for £32 ever since i saw some on amazon marketplace months ago for that price but I am almost tempted with this. I missed out on the choices one at 34.99 a couple of weeks ago, I ordered and it got cancelled.

Got 2 weeks away with wedding and honey moon so hopefully will be same price when I get back.

It does seem a bit of a rip off.

Wireless Consoles
Wii
PS3
PSP
DS

Not wireless Consoles
360

But what can you do? Its damn annoying I have to get one of these (the 360 is in a room without a phone line). Voted hot, but it stinks there is no wireless built into the 360.
#12
lmao at how dumb people are. as i voted hot, the total value fell down, probably because more idiots voted cold for no reason
#13
Good deal compared to RRP, Heat given.

However I echo the comments about it still being an utter rip off!

Yes it is overpiced but this is still the best deal posted for this item for several months (Amazon 5 months ago).
So its hot and fortunately you are in a minority that thinks its cold.
#15
Voted hot, great price! I'll spend the extra money rather than buying a cable!

Agreed, you'd think a supposed "next gen console" would contain wireless as standard, rather than as a vastly overprice add on. And regardless of price it looks untidy especially if you have an elite (which you would have thought would have had wireless at least).

Agreed, hot price

Good price for the wireless adaptor. Was one of the main reasons I didn't buy the console for £90...if the adaptor is £50 RRP not such a bargain what else will crop up that I will need. Voted hot.
#19
what with the price of this little ****** and having to pay to play online I regret getting a 360 now!

Yes, it all adds up. I don't play on-line (and I have a PS3 for that if I want to play on-line), but I need the wireless adaptor just to get the most out of my silver membership. I have been plugging a long network cable from my laptop to the 360, but its annoying.

Yeah i know what you mena i have my elite with the back facing out and sticking out from under the TV shelf........../sarcasm

You cant even see it when its attached the back on the unit, the only think you can see is the aerial...which is black.

cool, was putting off buying one of these, but at this price I can just about justify it.
I use my PS3 for online mostly, but for game updates, and Live features I need this.

Thanks to the OP

Voted hot. I got one from game for £30 when they were doing a deal, never used it though and sold it on ebay for £50. It isn't great that the xbox doesn't come with a wireless adapter but this strategy could be something to do with why Microsoft have quite a lot of money...
#25
Use the powerline thingys instead. At least that way I can use it for other things at same cost. Absolute rip off for these by M$, but it's a good deal for what it is so won't vote either way
#26
Good Price.
Bought mine over a year ago for near £60
#27
Yeah I recommend using a powerline device or sticking the ethernet cable from the xbox to a nearby computer or Laptop.

XP : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7x5Eu3Bb-J8

Vista : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uAw6xVN9vsg&feature=related

Its pretty simple and you'd be up and running very quickly.

The price for a pair of homeplugs is typically £35-£40 - so if you already have a wireless network the adaptor is a neater solution....
#29
great price! hope it stays at this price!
#30
If you own a laptop, you can always use that instead (like I do with my eepc)

You'll need to use a Ethernet patch cable to link it to the 360, then simply make a network bridge in wireless connections on your laptop.

Network Connections
(make sure both are enabled)

Then Roberts your mothers brother, test the xbox live connection and it should be online.

;-)

Overpriced. Yes.

Still a bloody good price though!!!

Hmm, why does this always raise its ugly head. All of the "Wireless" consoles you stated, with the exception of the DS, cost MORE than the 360, perhaps others should actually follow MSofts lead, I never use the Wii online and the PS3 online gaming is by all standards, carp, perhaps you feel that every car shoudl come with all of the OPTIONAL extras.... with a £5000 price hike of course!! I say good on MS for giing the option, but yes, its a little overpriced despite being a great piece of kit!

You have to pay for quality, if you are happy with sub-standard online experiences then yes, the Wii and PS3 are great cheap alternatives. However, if you want a quality experience Live is the only way forward at the moment, unfortunately MS know this and keep their prices up. Perhaps if Sony had pulled its finger out and done a good job AND kept it free, MS would have no alternative but to drop their charge too??.

Wi-fi shouldnt be classed as an optional extra in this day and age it should come as standard, or do you class tyre on a car as an optional extra?

Also how is the online gameplay so much better for the Xbox? Everytime I ask someone this question, they can never really give me an answer, as I would love to hear what it is that makes it worth £30-40 a year.

Also you say "You have to pay for quality, " does this only apply to online gaming or to consoles themselves?

No, you are being silly, please re-read what I said, a tyre is as essential to a car as a cpu is to a console, thats why they ALL have them, HOWEVER, adaptive suspnsion, heated seat etc AREN'T essential to have in a car. In the same way, WIFI is NOT an essential component of a console!! As Isaid, the Wii has WiFi, but I never use it, now if I were offered a discount not to have it, I would take it.

As for Live, its just better than Home, more user friendly for sure, however, Sony are trying and its getting better, unfortunately once its sorted and working properly you may find yourself in the same position (i.e. they will charge), alternatively, people will start using it more and MS will drop their charge?!?! Who knows??

As for quality, I assume you are on about build quality?? Yes MS cocked up BIG time, but I also hear of MANY PS3 problems too, they are just not as prolific as the RROD but at least MS have fully backed the problem with a 3yr guarantee to cover it. Just to add, Im not a fanboy, I'd gladly buy a PS3 if there were games that could justify it there simply aren't any at the moment

OK then lets say electric windows, once they were an optional extra now they are included as standard. If you sign up to broadband these days, what type of router do they give you? Wireless! But five years ago it would have been wired.

As for build quality, MS have issued the 3 year warranty because they had to, not out of choice, but what about E74, disc scratching, drive noise etc? Sure you may get the odd faulty PS3, but you'll get that with any electrical item, and the failure rate of PS3's is nowhere near that of the 360.

I asked you to tell me why Live is better than PSN, you simply say its 'better' but offer me no reason why aside from saying its more user friendly which is quite frankly rubbish indeed the PS3 XMB won the Technology & Engineering Emmy Award for "Outstanding Innovation and Achievement in Advanced Media Technology for the Best Use of Personal Media Display and Presentation Technology" in 2006 and its just got better and better since then as you admitted yourself.

And as for your closing shot about games that is so 2007, however if you arent interested in playing the highest rated exclusive titles of the past 2 years or any of the highly anticipated exclusive titles on the horizon then thats your choice you stick with your 360, just make sure no one moves whilst you are playing it :whistling:.

Well lets face it there was no chance you could put forward a valid arguement was there.

Oh and no need to sell your 360, that is capable of playing dvds, you might need to turn the sound up to 11 to be able to hear it mind you :whistling:

So sad to be so blinkered....... I didn't bother to argue back as there is no point, you clearly want an argument, probably because you have nothing else to do being a PS3 owner . Anyway, like they say, "there are none so blind as those that will not see". Hey-ho, never mind, at the end of the day tey are both good machines, just that one has the gaming edge, so enjoy your DVD's :whistling:

PS to quote you, the noise is soooo 2007, you can play from HDD now you know..... silence :-D
