Not even played through Alan Wake, yet DLC at this price looks tempting

If you pay for it with the points now then yup, you're fine. I don't want the DLC downloaded yet so I bought it then cancelled it out of my download queue but you can go to your download history any time, or the item again and get it.

Silly question here. I see there is 'The Writer' & 'The Signal' are they games in themselves or addon to a full game bought separately?

They are two more "episodes" that extend the original story , one comes with new copies of Alan wake from a code in the box,I forget which.
#14
So am I best to try and buy the original story first?
#15
Don't even own the game but I think i'll buy these for when I do.
#16
wish I would have waited now

Heat added well worth this price

Hi everybody

How can I buy this game? I am a newbie with this stuff so my question could seem a bit stupid...

I believe most new copies of the game come with a download code for the signal but 100% sure

I got it when I order but that was a while ago mgiht be a cut off point where the copies didn't have the code
#24
Thanks just bought The Writer. I got The Signal free with my new copy if anyone's wondering.
#25
Brilliant have been playing this all week this deal came just in time

Good stuff; going to take a punt at the writer - I got a sealed version of Alan Wake from Currys for a fiver a few days ago, but I'm out of teh country now, so going to take a bet that the signal is still included.

Thanks for the deal, and thanks to those who have potentially saved me 200 points on DLC I already own :)

Cheer for your help, but for £1.50 I think i'll just pick it up anyway, so I have it if I buy the game pre-owned.

If you click through to the link to major nelson, then on top line click "The Writer" and it should take you to the page, or try this...

I bought the Writer at full price and thought that was excellent value for money. I know you may get more play time out of a similar costing map pack, but the attention to detail in the storyline, voice work, animation and gameplay made it well worth it for me. If you've got Alan Wake or are planning to get it, definitely get the DLC at this price.
#35
does anyone know the length roughly of the dlc been stung b4 with very short dlc lasting about an hour.
#36
Was lucky enough to get an unused code in my used copy, so first DLC was free :)

Just a shame I had to buy a 2100 points card for the sake of 200 points, cant complain about the price though.

Got Alan Wake today from Currey for a fiver after using a voucher and have been playing it for a few hours, so I bought The writer as well - The signal is included in the box.

Excellent atmosphere, interesting story, very nice cutscenes, and some of the best background graphics I've seen (character animations not quite that great), but the gameplay is a bit poor - repetitive, can't fight so when you are out of bullets it's a serious struggle. And it's very linear + compass tells you exactly where to go so it becomes almost like you hardly have any input. I'll probably finish it + the DLC's but it's not something I'd play again.
