I don't understand why people vote cold on these Kinect deals people are posting. Are they jealous because they can't get one, or afford one?

I think this is a good deal if you can get one. The best games out there are around the £30 mark. Heat added!

I think it is because it is crap, oh and massively overpriced! 50 quid, and it;s a different story, until that time this aint a deal, it is overmarketed bilge, with an optimistic price point.

Take it you didn't get one then :D

I see many things posted on HUKD which doesn't appeal to me or I would class as crap or even that I think is overpriced. I think this is the cheapest around with the "any game" included in that price so it should be voted hot. Your personal opinion on the Kinect itself shouldn't come in to it!

Fully agree with lalamb... thanks.

This is NOT what makes a deal hot!!

This is where everyone gets it all wrong, this is not a deal, imo it is microsoft conning people out of money, how is this ever a deal?

And since this is my opinion, this is how i will vote if i deem it

My point that imo it is crap was a side comment, and again my opinion

Of course price plays a factor in whether a deal is hot or not! Your statement is ridiculous and to call it crap for no other reason than it's a Microsoft product is pathetic too. You've probably never even played the Kinect LOL

But you miss the point! in my opinion, the price of this at rpp is OVERPRICED! so unless it is 50 quid, i don't see this as a deal! which is why i reserve my right to vote cold if i wish, now on the other hand, you may love being ripped off by microsoft and vote it hot, that is your prerogative, and one i won't argue with.

Also, price is not the sole factor as to whether something is hot or not

Oh, and just for your info, i was playing kinect stuff months ago on my devkit, except it was called natal then

But one of the main points of HUKD is to get the best prices possible on the market is it not? Soooooooo this is a HOT deal, whether you like the Kinect or not, whether you think Microsoft are ripping people off or not, this is one of the best prices around.......seriously, it's not rocket science to figure it out!

i agree with jayjayuk on this one.why anyone would spend £149 on this after the reviews ive read is beyond me.im a die hard xbox fan and dont own a wii but from what ive seen and read the games are crap the motion sensor is very slow to recognise movement making it extremely laggy.ive played on my brothers wii and they got it right as its pretty responsive, games might not be as pretty to look at but atleast they cope with the performance of the console and controllers.

I will purchase the kinect system when its been sorted out (if possible) but i wont be buying it until its about £50 and has decent titles to make use of it.

It is YOU that are missing how the site works, and sadly you are not alone.

Because something is the best price around, still does not necessarily make it a hot deal! which part don't you understand? someone hand me a piece of chalk!

There are many things to consider, for example the retailer! lets pretend this is pixmania selling this, or very! would it still be a hot deal?

Why do you think this site has a voting system?

Also, just for your information, i voted neither way, i rarely vote here, i was making a point

Silly comment. why would it apply to everything? if you really feel somethings value doesn't reflect its price, then by all means do so.

The xbox is proprietory hardware, which means microsoft charge what they like for accessories, you only need to look back at their overpriced hard drives..

back at xbox launch, £130 for a 20gb hdd? deal or no deal?

If it was the cheapest for that item at the time then it's a deal.

You're logic is a bit like saying a Rolls Royce should cost the same as a Lada as they are just cars with 4 wheels and the same.

Ah, the old car analogy.

Lets take that and maybe i can educate you with your own example.

Let;s say rolls royce bring out a new car, and is is shoddy, their worst ever car they have made so far, and should only cost 10k, but you can only purchase it from rolls royce, and they price it at £1Million, is this a deal because you cannot find it cheaper anywhere else?

But as the mods have pointed out in those threads over the years. Cold voting them for that reason is fundamentally wrong in regards to how the system is meant to work and those found to be doing it on regular occasions will have their voting power removed.

£149.99 for controller + game isnt that much of a saving over an already vastly inflated price when most websites are pricing the controller at £129.99 so from smyth's deal + £20 more gets you a kinect game when the price of a kinect game is roughly £30 so total savings would be £10

so why should the majority vote HOT over an inflated priced accessory + game that is £10 off the normal price of £160 from other website just because its the cheapest but only cheaper by a tiny amount, just because its the cheapest available atm doesnt mean it should be automatically voted HOT
1 Like #30
I agree with whoever is saying you can vote this cold if it's a load of tosh.

I'm selling my **** at the cheapest price ever, 90% off in fact, now there's a hot deal for you.

Pretty much agree this is tosh too, 30fps = slow for a controller. It ain't gonna see the finer details of your movement and won't react as quickly as the ps move (60fps I believe?). So many potential problems where the camera won't get it quite right, or accurate, or will glitch. ps move should technically be alot more accurate and reliable.

Don't own a ps, wii or xbox. But have added wiimotes to my pc and will probably add move to my pc when it's supported. Won't bother with kinect.
suspended#31
I don't know why anyone would buy an add-on that costs more than the console. :|

And i agree with Jayjay. If this were to be priced at £100,000, yet was the cheapest price around for it. Is that a deal?

Looks good, and a good deal I suppose if compared against other prices, however its like some sandwich shop selling a certain type of crap ham sandwich for £50. I then get the same type of ham and sell it for £40. Is it a hot deal? According to the rules, yet it is...

Thats strange as you are a PS3 fanboy and you know perfectly well why this is this price, just like you know that PS3 Move also cost MORE than the 4gb 360 to be able to do the same thing as Kinect, which is two player ready and comes with a game straight out of the box.

Releastic comparison, Not a fairy tale version but realistic
ARGOS
MOVE PARTS FOR TWO PLAYERS

Move for one player and what you will end up having to buy
Move starter pack = £47.99
Sub controller = £22.99
A game = 29.99p
About £100 for one player most people will end up paying to get properly going.

[b]Move for two players [/b
Add
2nd motion controller = £32.99p
2nd Sub controller = £22.99
Oh and some sort of docking station or a hub because the PS3 slims cant cut charging 4 controllers as it only has 2 usb ports.
About £160 for two players most people will end up paying to get properly going.

Don't bother trying to make out otherwise because these figures are simple facts and the addons are the ones most people are going to end up buying, so you either get Kinect and pay for it all in one or you get Move and end up paying for it all one way or the other.

Lol wut?
No way does Move cost more than a 360 console.

1. The prices you mentioned are nowhere near the cheapest.
2. You don't need to buy a game, and a lot of games now have Move updates for free.
3. You don't need a charging station at all, and you don't need a navi controller, and you don't need two cameras, you could sell one.

So to sum up. You are talking complete biased ****.

Inflated price?

According to some websites, microsoft are planning to spend $500 million just on advertising alone. So on top of the millions already spent developing kinect you can't honestly expect it to launch for £50?

Why would they need to spend so much on advertising if it were any good, best form of advertising is word of mouth, spend more on the product, and make it cheaper, tbh the price is rediculous.

It is just a way to squeeze a few more years out of an old system, and charge you through the nose for it.

So we are expected to pick up their over marketed advertising price tag and still be over the moon and all think this is a hot deal?

The price I am talking about is the price you pay at Argos and a general price, you see you say "You don't need to buy a game" that's just rubbish so you are saying "People who buy Move won't buy any Move games" I said being realistic you are not being realistic, the same with the Navi controller again you are not being realistic and I am NOT saying you have to buy Move and the camera twice in that price look again, I have just added the controllers to that price for TWO players and I haven't added any cost for a charging station.

To sum it up you couldn't keep off this 360 deal that you have no intrest in so you come up with your usual biased ****.

Why not look around for cheaper prices then you tool?

Reason: Because you don't want to say that the Move is cheaper.
