As title says and the blurb from Tesco's

You are the controller. Kinect uses a sensor to track your body movement and recognise your face, even listen to your voice. Smart enough to remember voices and faces and provides an in-game experience in which the player’s face and voice are recognised. Greet and speak to characters in the game, or simply step into view of the sensor to log into Xbox LIVE and connect with friends.

I went in there and they had 20% off all game stuff all over the shop, so i asked if the £99.99 on the ticket for kinect had already been taken off and the lady said "NO" we have to take it off manually, so the Kinect was £80...... I saw someone else put this up earlier and then asked for it to be taken down as the staff made a mistake so thanks to that person but as his post has been deleted i cant find it, sorry. The lady in Tesco's said the other Tesco's must have made a mistake as the 20% has to be taken off manually all the time.

*Just to let people know this was Hucknall (Nottinghamshire)

Well done for getting it at this price!! :)

They were definitely not selling it for this price in my nearest Tesco's (Tower Park, Poole, Dorset).

Which store did you get yours from?
#2
Just been to my nearest Tesco (Redditch), and they were refusing to sell it for anything less than £99.99 stating that the price was already with 20% taken off... :(

Hucknall In Nottingham, I did not have to do anything to get it for that price, just ask if the discount had already been taken off

How much game stuff has yours got in? as mine cant be bothered to amend all the prices and the £99.99 on the Kinect did not say already had the 20% taken off, so yours are horrible lol Seriously though mine said the 20% had to be taken off at the till rather then the system doing it automatically

Before people moan about liars and only 1 person getting it etc etc, i am only telling it how i was told it :)

#8
Its only Hot for the OP though as no one else can get it for this price ...
#9
I think you have been very lucky £99 is the discounted price, I saw the advert in the paper.

There was no need to argue, i went to the till and said "Hello, Excuse me has this already had the 20% taken off or has the price on the ticket already been amended to include the discount" and she said "no i have to take it off manually" simples no augueing and if she had said yes the price includes the discount i would have said "ok thanks" rather then "ok can i have it please" lol

As someone behind me got one, thats not true lol

As this seems to be a one of case of a store misunderstanding that the 20% off this already been deducted this doesnt seem to be a deal....more of a fluke. If we posted every deal where a sales assistant got the pricing wrong then this board would be overflowing.

Didnt mean to suggest you were having a moan to get it lol. I simply meant, as a few folk have also stated, its a cashier error. As someone who bought kinect just after release for over 100 quid even £99 is a deal, fair play to you on a stonking deal

try at knight, staff normaly dont give a ****! And refunds are easyer at that time as well!

night i mean!

why bother posting - it's 99. end of.

i work in a tesco store on the entertainment dept & we have had to remove all point of sale today for the 20% off offer as nothing was going through the till.
apparently there has been an error somewhere at head office & the promotion wont work in a lot of stores. believe me the staff will be the last to find out if it has been fixed.
#18
This thread is very similar to this one where people were given an extra 20% off, what in theory was an already discounted PS3.

Tescos West Durrington were also saying that 99.99 was after the reduction.
#20
Expired then un-expired - why the doubt this is clearly a mistake at the till in one store therefore is a non-deal IMO
#21
Went to three stores - two had a notice up saying that the 20% sale was suspended ! the prices were all over the place and also the consoles were removed.

The third one had just changed staff to the evening shift and had no idea about the sale but the prices on the SEL were 'I assume' the original price and more importantly so did the staff. After 10 mins of being nice and humourous I got a Kinect for £80 and a 4gb Harry potter 4gb xbox bundle for £99.98 :p plus had a £4 voucher if spend over £30 and club points approx total £176.00.

Not going to tell which store because I really do not want to get anyone in trouble but it is in the west.

Unless you find a 24hr shop I assume this glitch will be closed tomorrow with head office issuing proper SELs and prices.

Got this aswell at Tesco Hucknall. Cheers OP.

£80 for Kinect, Clubcard Points and 5p/litre off petrol!

Tried for an Xbox 250gb aswell, but would not budge on original 20% off price of £159.20, saying already discounted at that price.

So tempted to drive across town to get this! But a) is that store open 24 hours, and b) is it likely to still be the same staff serving?

Just to say I can vouch for this. 37 minutes after this was posted by the OP, I went on down to the Hucknall Tesco and the lady had her little calculator (for some reason she could not work out 20% of £100 in her head) and took the 20% without me saying a thing. So thanks to the OP. I was a little tempted at 99.99 but convinced myself out of it. However the 79.99 caught me by suprise. Here's to impulse purchases!! Now I just have to find 6-8 foot of free space in my living room....

Went for a Kinect first, seemed to scan on the till at £79.99 straight away. Was seriously considering console at this point, as got old Premium console. Went and did some shopping then went back up to get a console. Woman scanned it and the till beeped, she then called someone and then said that the price of the console was already discounted, I mentioned that I had got the Kinect @ 20% off the shelf label price, but she wouldnt budge.

Took my blessings on the Kinect as it were and left.

Went to my local 24hr Tesco's got the Kinect went to counter, scanned through at £99.99.
I then asked the lady that it hasn't gone through at the reduced price, she then checked with this 8yr old Electrical Dept. plod who stated that the 99.99 included the discount i then show him the till receipt in one of the previous post and said that didn't count as it was £129.99 at Tesco Direct website.
I then told him that was incorrect and said he can take it back as i wasn't paying the full price.
When I got home and checked Tesco Direct and this website, and after reading a few more posts and saw the one about the staff hadn't been told, so I phoned the shop and asked to speak to the manager, after telling 2 people before getting to the manager, and explaining AGAIN!! to her, she agreed with me and stated that she had only just received the email from head office about the 20% problem with the tills and indeed it should be £80.00 at which point i asked her to put me one aside and I'm picking it up tomorrow.
So if anyone else tells you the offer is already reduced, ask to speak to the manager/duty manager and they should by now be able to tell the staff...
YOU!! are right.

I got the Kinect and 250gb Xbox from Aberdeen's Danestone store yesterday evening, I mention the 20% off to the guy on the till who, after seeking guidance, manually adjust the total by 20% = £207 in total. The 20% discount sign was there in the afternoon but gone in the evening!!

Nice one.

One thing I find funny, is the people moaning about this deal not being a deal, but have not done the math the original price was £129 and the price on the ticket is £99.99 how is that 20%, if someone did say it had already had the 20% off I would say so £30 is 20% of £129? let them take 10 mins to work it out and say YES ;)

So as this cant be right i take it like the original price was £129, then it went down to £99.99 (Ticket price) and then take the 20% off, so £80 lol

Tescos are saying it is 20% or MORE discount - so they can justify in saying that it has already been reduced - however it is a cracking argument to use to get it to £80 - it took 5 mins for two sales people to work out what was 20% of £99.99 ! me and this other woman looked on in amazement whilst they tried to work it out on their phones! however this did help because I knew I would get an extra 20% against these masterminds :)

that is an excellent deal - beats mine for £175 but with the 4gb. I went round today and quite a few stores had either taken the prmotion banner off or had replaced them with the new ones which show the before and after prices.

any other day this would have got very hot but because people dont like the fact they cant get it and expired it twice, it looks like another deal that wont make my little award go orange, dohhhhh lol

To continue on from my post #32 in this thread...
Went to Tesco this afternoon to pick up my Kinect and they couldn't find my unit that was put aside so after waiting what seemed for atleast minutes while a member of staff went to find another one, she eventually turned up with 2 brown boxes, each with two units in them, so i asked can i pay here? she replied yes, inserted my credit card and noticed the value was still£99.99 as she didn't take off the 20%.
I then thought to myself... keep quiet as while i'd been waiting directly in front of me was a store policy poster stating "if we charge you an incorrect price we'll refund double the difference" so not saying anything i let her charge me the full £99.99.
Directly after this i walked away, and looked at the till receipt in my bag, shrugged my shoulders and in front of what looks like the duty manager, said "I don't believe this not again...?"
I turned around walked straight back to her and said I'd just bought this and the assistant hadn't taken off the 20% discount.
She agreed at which point, well knowing that they should double the £20 to £40 (as from what i read just from behind her on the wall), i asked "do you still give double the difference?" from charging an incorrect price, she replies "Yes", i then said "it's lucky you still don't refund the difference and the item for free. She looked at me and agreed again stating that would have been a very costly error.
She then asked for me to put my credit card in the machine and promptly refunded me £39.98, so the unit only cost me £60.01 in the end.
So the morale is... If any one gets the chance, keep quiet, let them charge you the full amount and then bag yourself a real bargain, with a nice refund.

Very tempted just to try this at my local. It's a very big store though so I would think they would get the discount right.
