Anyone with an on line automatic renewel with credit card for xbox live should be able to call xboxlive 020 7365 9792 or 0800 587 1102
listed price £39.99. Say you can get it cheaper by prepaid card approx £24.00 and they will reduce next years bill to £23.99. I have done it with no probems and still have 11 months left on my existing. A friend has also done it and will renew automatically in July for £23.99. May only apply if you have been with them for a while , but worth a shot.

Just rang the above telephone number as my xbox live runs out in Janaury, they said the cheapest they could do 12 months for was £49.99!!! To be honest the bloke i was speaking to didnt really sound like he knew what he was doing! lol!

Good deal if you can get it tho! Heat added!
#10
See post for email confirmation may be today only ?????
#11
jus called and told me to go to xbox live mArket place or xbox live.com and he wsnt sure what offers are on, maybe im unlucky
#12
I told them I wanted to take my automatic renewal off because I can get it cheaper elswhere for £24.00 and also so that they did not take £39.99 out each year without me knowing. Which they did last year. The chap said that if he reduced it , would I leave it on automatic which I agreed to at £23.99. My friend did exactly the same 5 mins later. I think its still worth a try you may get someone else in a different call centre, the one i spoke to was in ireland. Good Luck!

Remember to sign up for the xbox live rewards scheme before you do this. I think you get 100 free points if you renew your subscription.

hardly a deal, just luck of the draw who you get on the other phone, you can often do this with car insurance, sky etc but i wouldnt bother posting it on a thing you may or may not get!!

This isn't a deal more of a negotiation and as such should be in Misc....

Its a bit like telling people to phone up Sky at renewal time to get it reduced.....

http://www.hotukdeals.com/misc/fao-half-price-sky-customers-from-n/801554

That thread is in the right forum (Misc) and is no different to this....

This is going to get SUPER HOT!
#17
yes indeed, not much point in ringing up if you can get a prepaid card for £24
and if you cant, then its fraud really.

mine runs out in May so will see what offers are around in April. hardly used my xbox this year though compared to PS3.
#18
I know someone who did this the other day and they only offered him £30 for 12 months. So is the price definitely right? But £30 is about the best you can get most of the time anyway.
#19
is this for existing customers only ?
#20
Was offered a card for £24.00 ish from ebay source but [email protected] trust it, so not fraud really. My existing runs out in November 2011 but now runs out November 2012 at £23.99 not a bad deal with 40% off.
#21
What about new users? i am still on my one month free and am about to go for a years subscription
#22
I just got told by Rory in Ireland that I can only get 25% off that's all the system is allowing - even though I've been with them since the start. What a joke.

I cancelled auto renewal and will pick up a cheap card when expiring.
#23
I am an existing customer and it worked for me, but can't confirm whether it works for new customers, Please try and let others know before microsoft get wind of it and remove the offer. I did not have to haggle the price they just said that they could do it for that. Once i got through to billing department and account check 2 minutes and was sorted. Same for a friend of mine.
#24
I'll never put my credit card details again to buy anything off live,it got scammed by world of warcraft thiefs always buy code cards now for everything
#25
So basically this isn't an actual deal, just a bit of luck with a phone operator at the other end of the line?
#26
So has anyone else actually been able to get this magical price??
#27
I called them again and they told me I just had to go onto the dashboard and check for offers and renew thorugh there! the only offer at moment is the family one which is no good to me - this should be as cold as the weather!!!
#28
Same deal that was on the Dashboard couple months ago.
I went for the Gold membership x4 for £69 for the family instead 8)
#29
after my son accidentally clicking stuff and purchasing points i took my card off before i got the 12 month deal i had put it on there for and was not offered to pay for it before it got taken off, im sticking to vouchers also now.

i contact them yesterday and spoke to a guy about cancelling my auto renewal as i purchased it from £29.99 from Amazon a few weeks back! I told him this and he said that all he could do was price match this and offer me 400 points as a sweetner,

He said he couldnt budge on the price despite me saying it was hardly worth it.
#31
All the calls to these numbers go through to indian call centres, unless you get the odd lucky one where you get ireland or the uk.
Total useless calls EVERYTIME, this is not a racist issue or the like, the problem is 9 times out of 10 when you call a call centre you already have a problem, adding to that problem is a person speaking in broken english and who has ZERO knowledge about the device/service your calling about just makes the process even more difficult!
This is the ONE fundemental reason why i would not use a card on file with microsoft to bill my xbox live each year, as i know many people who have had knightmares trying to get their card details removed from the system.
For by that you can always snag 12-14 month cards for the £30-£35 mark most years!
COLD as the uk big freeze for me this deal!
#32
great if you can get it!!!
#33
Just called the best they could do was 29.99 which is what they gave me last week but I dont have anymoney so I cancelled it, maybe if they reduced it to £24 I would have accepted but no show, am buying from amazon with a £5 off and maybe £15 if I get it.

is this for existing customers only ?

Mine had just lapsed to silver so I had to take out a month gold subs before the offer became valid. The guy then cancelled the month subs and made the year for above price effective, so well happy!!

Just tell them you got an email saying to call for the offer - use your nouse man
#36
will try thanks!
#37
just off the phone. I said i could get it for £25 elsewhere, the man said he had heard of that deal today... and offered to beat it with £23.99! Happy days!
#38
Got the deal 23.99 sorted. Thanks to the op.
#39
Tried this a few days ago, dropped it to £29.99 not £23.99. I needed to be on live for 24 months before they offered me the £23.99 price.

Phoned em and it worked
