Just seen this in the spotlight section of the dashboard and think it's a really good price for 12 months.

Why? You can easily ring up and cancel so it doesn't auto renew, I mean, that's what anyone with common sense would do if you didn't want to renew your subscription.
#5
easily ring up ? last time took about 20mins to say why

you do know that it does not matter if your card expires as it will and can follow onto your new card, and the bank wont say no if they ask for it even if its your new card bet you didnt know that eh.

When my card expired MS still managed to take £40 out of my account, they will never get my card details again.

BTW anyone found any "flamedeer", I randomly got one the other day

I got one the other day and one about an hour ago... I need just 1 more but i suppose its rigged like that so you spend ages on the site trying to get the third.

Back on subject, how did they take money from an expired card?
#17
iv just logged into get it for my husband but it still says 39.99 :( heat added though if you can get it for the cheaper price
#18
only pop`s up if your due to expire i got one for 24 month at silly price (mine runs out on xmas eve) got a 1 month card somewhere to tide me over :-) still debating the family pack as have 2 accounts in house and 3 xbox`s
#19
God damn it, missed the boat by 2 weeks, ended up buying the black ops shirt bundle one for £31.50.
#20
nice price - i phoned and cancelled in a few minutes last time....pretty painless and they emailed a confirmation. Annoying you can't stop the auto renewal online in the UK like you can elsewhere....

I agree! Don't give them your details. You have to ring them to stop the auto renew and they REFUSE to remove your credit/debit card details until the one year period is up. In the meanwhile they are offering you lots of 'points' to keep the auto-renew going. They seem oblivious to banking regulations, data protection and good customer service.
This should be a 12 months free for the info that they gain!

My card had already expired, I dont even have the card account number anymore. I received an email from MS stating they had renewed my subscription. (even though I had emailed them not to).
At the moment I havent had the transaction show up on any of my C cards, so Ive either got 1 year free, or some how MS will swith it to another CC account.

Upshot of all this. never give MS CC details. buy prepaid vouchers instead. and definately switch off auto renew.
#27
I registered my card with these thieves they auto renewed, also other payments were taken for what i don`t know about £6.99 a month about three months before i noticed and it was a right pain in the a** to cancel, i buy prepaid card every time now register your card at your own risk take note of the comments from others
#28
You need to ring up after a couple of months after you have paid for them to remove your credit card details. If you do it straight away there is a chance that your subscription payment won't go through. I don't know why people make such a fuss over this, it's really not that hard to pick up the phone and call them to remove the auto renew and your credit card details. It took me under 10 minutes to do this last time thay had an offer, It really was that simple.

You can cancel the auto renew on the xbox website in thd time it takes to login to your account, about a minute... stop whining this is HOT!
#31
Good price - but always wary of companies that let you buy things via online connections easily enough, but then insist on actually phoning them in order to cancel. Had a mare maybe 12 months ago when I wanted to cancel my credit card details with them.
#32
I phoned and cancelled 3mnths ago but they are still taking 5 quid every month. How can they be allowed to do this. They already make the cancellation process almost impossible.

Exactly, since the new xbox website, you can turn off auto renew. I guess they had enough complaints about it.

best way round it is use a Prepaid card works spot on,so bottom line is your add money yourself to card, just top them up at any p+p shops,

Ring your bank and get them to stop that 5 quid payment there is alot of reviews about these payments and its happened to me not sure what the payment was for as they had already taken money for 12 months subscription thats why you need to be careful about giving them your details not just because of the auto renew
#36
They aren't offering the same deal for me, should be for all :( £29.99 to me.

Yes you'll need the family pack, unless all 4 of you share one xbox live account.
