I no it slightly off topic but is it just me or is it impossible to find 2100 xbox live points sub £15 these days? Best I can find is zavv, hmv and john lewis at £15.90. did anyone get those £6.99 points from hmv? They cancelled my order.

heat added, pretty good price.

i know its not a great deal but have you tried tesco one? http://www.tescoentertainment.com/store/games/-xbox-live-2100-pts-card/8%3a600142/ using code FTSL15-1 gives 15% off making about £14.20 plus maybe 8% quidco on top? only real drawback is it says despatched within 7 days

agreed.

Those who ''think'' Xbox Live is better are painfully mistaken and most likely have never even tried the PS3 online (which is, just as good, if not better than Xbox Live).

PS3 is the way forward my friends. I cannot believe people are lured into PAYING for games online after they've paid for the initial game. (Forget MMO's, i mean just to actually play online!)

PM me if you want a code instantly for like say £27 lol or is that against forum rules?

Obviously you havent heard of Sonys plans for paid online service...........

PSn better than live. Wheres the party chat, cross game chat and party system, proper gammer points system, decent messaging system, live exclusive dlc, live exclusive games etc etc etc....

Sony said the ps3 would have backwards compat, multi os system support etc so if you think they dont lie and backtrack they have a proven history when it comes to their gammign division.

I have had live for around 7 years and in that time paid about £100 for it total after promos deals etc. For the best online gamming platform its well worth the pence it costs each day.

I went on my mate's PS3 last night, straight onto FFA on MW2 and won the match easily. Bearing in mind i'm not that great, and i was playing with the stupid R1 = shoot PS3 setup, I was shocked. So the standard on PSN isn't as good as live (see we can both play at generalising sweeping statements that carry little weight).

Went on WaW (COD5) and was also suprised that (as far as I can tell) you can't just join in when your mates are playing and you have to setup a party first. Unless this is on a per-game basis, which itself would be a bad implementation?

You can keep kidding yourself, or you can stop trolling on a 360 deal? Don't know why but it always seems to be PS3 owners jumping on 360 deal threads, reminding us how their console is 'better'? Truth be told I really couldn't care less what I'm playing on, so long as it's COD.

Do you desperately need to justify your purchase to yourself or something? Because surely you are aware that there's pretty much **** all difference between the pair in terms of playing the same multi-platform games? (well, except for the 360 having cross game chat and the ability to join in games).

Its not a paid online service like xbox live where you have to have it to play any game online and other services. Its just for hardcore fans who play a lot of PSN games they get big discounts and free games etc. For some people it would save them money.

Anyway I have both console's and both have pro's and con's why does it have to turn in to a flame war every time someone posts a xbox/ps3 deal

One thing I will say though...Wii sucks :whistling:

^ THIS.

But I do agree that paying for playing on XBOX Live is a bit of a rip seeing as they are using a P2P connection for online play
But £27-£30/yr isn't gonna break the bank. It would be great if we didn't have to pay to play online, but then we wouldn't get this level of service, features & exclusive content (which gets paid to the developers from the Live membership fee fund).

I have to agree with you.
Mario Kart is pretty much the only decent game on the system.

One thing I do like about it is that it's stupidly easy to hack :whistling:

More shoddy advice by cheer leaders for multi-national corporations, lol.

I just went to play Uncharted 2 multiplayer tonight, it took 20 minutes to download 200m worth of patches then a further 20 minutes to connect out on line, with an average of 6 minutes of lobby searching between games. That's the best part of 40 minutes to go from putting the disc in to actually playing something on line.

Don't listen to the 14 year old Sony fanboys who believe there's such a thing as a Console War and claim PSN is as good as Live - Regardless of how you feel about having to pay annually for a subscription based system, Live is a much smoother experience.

Super cold tbh, they've been £27.99 HERE for ages.

Lukewarm for me. It's been this price on eBay since forever. If you're savvy enough to browse HUKD then I'm sure you can make it on to eBay

I have both PS3 and Xbox 360 and I can say while PS3 functions okay, its much more prone to online difficulties than Xbox 360 is in my experience, and in my opinion its worth paying the extra few pence a day just for the Xbox interface, ease of use and experience. Online gaming is better on the 360, anyone with sense agrees. The question is, isit worth the £30 a year? In my opinion YES

Online gaming is EXACTLY the same on both consoles, both use the same servers etc. No one talks on PS3, but there are more mature players, the same as almost everyone uses a mic on 360, yet you'll find you will be muting 90% of the squeaky **** bag player base. No way in a million years is XBL worth the money, but it does provide the most user friendly system as well as party chat, and thats what you pay £30 a year for.

I'm pretty sure they don't use the same servers as inter-console play is not possible on either system. I could be wrong though.

They won't use the same servers, because 95% of 360 games are P2P anyway.

Really? When i went on that other day, PS3 MW2 was full of little kids babbling and playing **** music through their crap quality headsets, as someone else mentioned further up.

Again, why do you find a need to come on a thread about a 360 deal? If you want to play online on a 360, Live is your only choice. So your verdict of whether it's worth having or not is irrelevant, to be honest.
