Are you sure the cable is included?
#2
Can someone confirm this comes with the HDD transfer cable?
#3
I'm just going to ring and confirm.
#4
The 60gb Live Kit does NOT come with a HDD transfer cable.

You can phone up MS Customer Service to see if they will send you one F.O.C.

One of the reviews:

"not too expensive and 3x more than the 20 gb but it would be better if gameplay sold the item you need to transfer data from the 20gb to it"
#6
the cable you are referring to is the ethernet cable, not the transfer cable

I have just called and it doesn't include the cable as everyone has said it doesn't.

Sorry about that i have changed the listing accordingly.

Another reason to buy a bigger xbox, because changing the hard drive is overcomplicated. Man microsoft needs to learn.

You phone them on a freephone number, if you have a legit 360 they send the cable, it's all quite simple really.(and when you have finished, as it's One use per year on your registered serial number you may as well then pass the cable on to the next person who can then pass it to the next person etc etc)...

Yeh but why do they need to go through that faff. At least they give you the cable. You can yank the one out of the ps3 and do not need to buy anything extra then the hard drive and it wont void your warranty. Sure if you want to back up saved information you can faff with extrernal hard drives.

I agree. I was in Gamestation on saturday and saw a 120GB HDD for about £60.

No transfer cable - and I just paid £54.99 from Play a few days ago - typical

I only found this after thinking of buying your 60gb HDD that is for sale on here and decided to do a little online search.

Sorry

I just ordered one of these as it's such a great price and ideal for an Arcade console owner such as myself. We sell these in my store for £59.99 so for £48.93 you are getting a good deal.
#19
have to agree

The simplest way to transfer data from one hdd to another is using a memory card, can take a little while but at least you know everything has been transfered as the cable method has been a bit hit and miss with some game saves:thumbsup:
#21
Yeah I bought one last week. Got it Friday. Moved everything over using the memory card and bingo. Great price, just should have posted it myself :)

My Gold membership was up this month and it was a good way to extend that out too, plus get a bigger HD for installing my games onto so I runs without spinning the disc :)
#22
you can get an ethernet cable in poundland or 99 p stores anyway

You can install the games to hard disk with the latest update. You'll still need the original in the drive though. One reason why I'll go for a 120gb version.

PS3 owners need to stop pretending that it's easy to swap disks. It is with this. The transfer is just as much faffing around.

Great find, just ordered one.
Have also just called XBOX support and they are posting me out a transfer cable.
They said it would take 1-2 weeks but i'm happy to send it on to others when im done.

Yes I just noticed that and to think I actually thought I was helping him didn't realize it was just another thread spoiler, I bet he has a lot more trouble Jamming that PS2 into his PS3 for backward compatibility though

Anyway keeping this on topic this really is a good deal as the drive itself is only about £20 if you take into account the other bit's included..

Where was this? They are listed as £117 on their web site.
#29
Great price for this. The bigger HDD will come in handy now that the new dashboard allows you to burn a game to the HDD. Will reduce load times in games like Fall Out 3.

There is to many consoles in this house. Xbox being one of them, just nice to learn a bit more.

I've just phoned up Microsoft and they have told me to fill in this form on xbox.com in order to get a data transfer kit. Is this the same as they have told everyone else? It asks for the serial code of the elite but I don't have one. Any ideas?

It seems to be a bit confusing as some people are saying they just phoned Microsoft up whilst others say they have had to fill a form out and send it to Microsoft.... :?

I rang them up and they tried to get me to fill out a form. However the form is if you are upgrading from a premium to an elite as it requires both serial numbers.

I rang them again and said that this is not the case for me and the i am upgradeing my 20 GB to a 60 on a Pro version of there console.

They then just took my address and sent me one to arrive within 7 - 10 working days.

I do think it makes a difference who you talk to on the other end of the phone though as the first person who passed me off with the form - seemed to have no clue what i was trying to do, even thgouh i was being quite clear.

Thanks Spooki and Sunspot48, I've filled out the form and sent it off with a note explaining the situation.

Fingers crossed the cable will come:thumbsup:

These are still in stock, but please note they are sent 2nd class post so unless you go for a quicker delivery its doubtful that these will arrive before Xmas.
