Kit comes with 60GB HD, ethernet cable, headset, and 3 month XBox Live Gold prepaid card

i need a new hd and this is the best deal i can find

i will be ordering this latter unless anyone comes up with a bettter deal (any size hd)

---------------

This kit does not come with a transfer cable and so if you want to upgrade from an old 20Gb (or downgrade from a 120Gb) then you will need to phone MS for it. They will send one to you for free within a week or two.

I'm not sure why people are voting this cold. Looks pretty hot to me!

I Agree.... i don't think you can get this cheaper anywhere at the moment. There was a deal on amazon for the 120gb harddrive for £69.99. But it's now over £100 and you have to go through the amazon marketplace thing.....

HOT from me.
#3
I guess because it's been that price for a looooong time.

Still deserves to be hot.

Comparing 2nd hand to new isnt really fair is it.

Its 12 month warranted. Yes its a fair comparison, as its warranted if it had no warranty would be different, why anyone would pay more for some plastic is beyond me.

I would agree with you except that this deal is not just for the drive. It also includes a headset, an ethernet cable and, most importantly 3 months XBox Live. The extras must makes this a better bet than £38 for just the second hand drive.

I completely agree , extras make it a great deal !
Voted hot.

second hand and no 3 months xbox live (worth about £15) or headset , i think the starter kit is a lot hotter than the ones you are suggesting

Not really I'm talking 120Gb drive for £52. 3 months would be silly, month usually goes for £3 on here so £10 tops. Headset bought on here for £3. So really overpriced if you actually shop around.

With the 3-month Live and headset this is a fantastic deal :o

Since when has anyone in their right mind paid £15 for 3 months (that's £60/year)
Even MS themselves beat that by a mile! You're getting mixed up I suspect.

I'm not sure why people ask... it's the first comment on most deals :D Some people just vote every new deal cold, some people just vote every 360 hard drive cold because Microsoft made them expensive, some people just vote randomly...

So by your own reckoning,

Second hand hard drive: £38
3x 1 month live: £9
Headset: £3
Total: £50

This deal is all new for the same price in one convenient bundle and includes an ethernet cable! The cex price is quite good value if you're trading something in or if you want the 120GB hard drive (most people don't need it), or if you don't want the accessories, but just because that's a good deal for you doesn't mean this isn't a good deal for someone in a slightly different situation to you. Why not post it as a deal and see how the voting goes?

thats because every game on the PS3 needs to use up about 40gb of space to play at a reasonable speed

The prices by credit card direct through MS:

That's right, 3 months is £0.02 more expensive than 3x 1 month
Or £10 for 3 months pro rata if buying the full year.

(not that I'd recommend buying this way unless you like phoning up to cancel it... I've always bought codes cheaper than that anyway and redeemed them)

And even less than that pro rata if you're buying a full year with a cheaper code (US codes for gold subs (but not points) work on UK consoles and accounts too!)

But still, this is a great deal if you want a hard drive and some of the other bundled things!

Alright Sheep if you follow everything you get from the 1st time seller.

£52 for a 120gb hard drive over 3 months worth of live access is a no brainer, I buy in 12 month purchases, which is cheaper.

The network cable aint worth crap, small size no good for most people who use theres over a larger room.

Headset most serious gamers go for the wireless version.( not me skin flint over 7 consoles)

Why spend £50 on a 60gb when you can have 60gb more for £2 more minus the other items. I know what I chose.

I think you have made it quite clear what you would choose... just obviously the majority don't agree with you...

12 month warranty isn't going to be much comfort if the 2nd hand drive goes tits up and you lose 12 month's worth of saved games and downlaods.

yup - except the chances of a 2nd hand one going tits up is much larger. You don't know what sort of clumsy idiot might have owned it previously.
