Remember the 12 month xbox live for £23.99 on the xbox dashboard?

http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/12-months-xbox-live-gold-23-99/757735?page=1

Well i got it for my main account we will call this account A by phoning up and asking for it as it wasnt showing on my dashboard got this on the 16th of september.

checked my daughters dashboard account B on the 18th and the offer was there for her but i didnt have the cash for hers until a few days later when i returned it was only 20% off which i didnt bother with.

Anyhow upon checking my email for an old xbox live account i had (account C) i had an email stating i can get xbox live gold for £23.99 up until the 27th of this month

When i click the following link it tells me to sign in

http://click.engage.xbox.com/?qs=2e21d791f3aab8dca97a601a601fbb71040c7bba1f6aab366966207a7db92f110bd0feb0d9ff0837

but i was already logged in as my Accoun A email address i signed out and signed in with my Account b email address but it said session timed out so i closed the page and clicked link again and signed in and shows at £23.99 so happy days

So thought id share the link to see if anyone else can take advantage.

However be warned it does state this at the bottom of the email so its up to you if you want to risk it

Thank you for your interest in the promotion. Based on your current Xbox LIVE membership, the subscription offer that you are trying to access is not applicable at this time. Please click the “OK” button to see available subscription offers.

Am still good til next august but I thought I give it a try to see if it´d show :)

they should offer everyone it for this price so we all buy live, then when our xbox's get the rrod were forced to replace them lol
#4
It is available to everyone but it excludes anyone on a previous promotional offer. I took part in the 3 months for £7.50 offer so I am therefore ineligible for this particular offer.
#5

Don't forget to cancel in 12 months or they'll automatically charge you for the next 12 months! Can be a pain to cancel so I'm told...
#17

Good luck trying to cancel the repeat sub for £40 in 12 months, Microsoft will have plenty of hoops ready for you to jump through.
#27
Anyone managed to get this to work who only has one XBox account?
#28
Weird one this......I have an account that MS are currently sorting out as they screwed up the auto renew function so it currently reads as a Silver membership, if a try the link it offers me the XBL subscription at the reduced rate but as I am in the process of renewing anyway (13 month redeemable code, already paid for) I don't wish to use the code under MY account.

I have just set up a new XBL account for my son and as part of this he is eligible for the 1 month subscription to Gold but when I try using the link for his account it says "Thank you for your interest in the promotion. Based on your current Xbox LIVE membership, the subscription offer that you are trying to access is not applicable at this time. Please click the “OK” button to see available subscription offers."

It does say that this should work for users with Trial Gold accounts but I'd like to know if anyone has had success upgrading a trial account with this link.
#29
Thanks a lot, will call next week to begin the Auto Renew Turn Off.
#30
I saw this but didn't take them up as it seems you have to take 12 months at the new price after the 12 months at 23.99 expires.
With prices announced as rising I didnt want to take the risk.

anyone know if you can definitely just cancel?
#31
Works for me thanks, but still unsure. I'm not currently on a trial, and am on Silver but it shows as £31.99 on the Dashboard. Hmmmm. Last time I bought from Microsoft directly I managed to cancel the auto renewal a month before the subscription ended but my whole gaming account was cancelled and I had to start over with a new one. Maybe I did something wrong.

uptwisting

anyone know if you can definitely just cancel?

It said after payment something about if you didn't wish to continue before 24th September 2011 to contact them and cancel.
#33
OK, many thanks, just done this using a credit card that will expire before the end of the subscription. CHEERS
#34
How hard is it to stop them renewing for £40 at the end of the 12 months?
#35
I'm getting the bellow error message after following the link, selecting the 40% off membership, entering my card details, and clicking 'Confirm Purchase' - any idea whats wrong? :(

This action cannot be performed at this time. Please try again later. For more information, go to http://www.xbox.com/support.

Unfortunately my xbox 360 has broken again (totally fed up with second rate 360 elite's) i was going to take this offer out and when i looked at it it says it expires at 5pm on the 27th september which i'm not due to get yet another 360 until the 28th so i'll miss out.
ps my 360 hasn't got the 3 red rings this time, its just not reading discs and _ _rrys have been really hard work tried repairing it twice and still doesn't work so trying to get it replaced.

Couldn't you just sign up for this offer online anyway, regardless of when you are actually buying a replacement 360, then 'Live' will be ready and waiting for when you get your 360.
#38
Just done it and it works for me, yay! Was gutted as only a day late last weekend before it went off :D
#39
hi thats a fair point does anyone have a direct link to sign up online
#40
I just got an xbox and it signed up for the free month. Does this count as a promotional offer? Thought everyone new would get this.
Now I can't get this promo :(
