Having not had any hot offers pop up on my dashboard this is the cheapest Ive found Xbox Live Gold 12 Months subscription for.

Postage is £3.00 but you can collect instore for free.

I guess the instore price is probably the same but someone would need to confirm.

Don't forget, if you call Microsoft, you can probably get a cheaper deal over the phone anyway. I didn't manage to get a £23 deal but got mine down to £26 which I'm happy with :) Probably worth doing this instead of purchasing from John Lewis unless it's a gift or you've never purchased XBLGold before.

I think once youve had Gold (paid for) then you can get the cheap deals by ringing MS up or waiting for an offer to pop up on the dashboard. But Ive been waiting for quite some time for a good offer to come along with no luck.

I bet ill get inudated with offers now ive bought this!

Out of stock :( Hot though, people saying it's cheaper on dashboard obviously fulfil some magical criteria.

As somebody mentioned the other day, these dashboard deals are *user specific* - there's no point saying it's cheaper for "me" on the dash - you're not "him" or "her". If you want to compare these things, you need to do it with comparable retailers. MS direct can futz about with the price all they want based on your spending habits and other demographics and all that hoohah.

Also, annoyed... cos JL owe me one and I was going to demand this. Bah.

The offers on the Dashboard are strange.

My one month free trial was coming to an end and I was offered another free month for a £.

However, I hesitated too long and my trial expired and the deal disappeared.

No problem, I thought, I'm sure it will pop up again soon.

Waited over a week and no sign of any free/cheap one month deals but was being offered 12 months for £26.50.

Decided to take that.

As soon as I took that, guess what popped up on my Dashboard?

That's right - one month for a £!!!

Correct plus once you give microsoft your card details you have more chance of climbing Everest backwards and blindfolded than cancelling your card.

Don't owrry, one month won't get you far! And you'll end up having to subscribe for a year after that month expires anyway. You've had a good deal with your current subscription anyway :)

Phone them up and tell them that other people you know have had it much cheaper in the lines of £20-30 and they will no doubt reduce the price. Even if you have already paid £39, you still havea a 30 day threshold where they can actually refund you the difference. :)
