im a ps3 owner, and id say thats a fairly reasonable price for cross game chat........ ill just sit and watch my blu-rays and iplayer (JOKES! )

i take it that its one month only then auto-renewal kicks in...?

£5.99 is a JOKE!!! m$ can shove there gold membership where the sun don't shine!!

the deal for £23.99 a few weeks back was more reasonable, that should be rrp

i'll sick with being a poor silver member.

you have to pay the 12 months up front £32.04 and then auto renewal kicks in so its still better to buy card from reseller IMO.

But you do get a different level of service if you have to ring Support - I've questioned this previously as I work for a Microsoft Gold Partner and, for xbox-live and a Gold Member (and will continue). If you renew through 'scratchcard' then your contract is with the retailer that you purchased it from and not with Microsoft (apparently) - this was from the shift-supervisor as I wasn't getting much joy out of the 'systems analyst' there.

I thought this absolutely stunk when I had to ring up for a mate who was having issues with his live connection (on card subscription) - it's not a substandard service that you receive but certainly not all the bells and whistles and them going out of their way to assist.

Thankfully I caught the reduced offer with Halo Reach last month - rang MS and, eventually, they renewed me at that rate for next year.

Not sure where you heard this, but its definitely not true.

You'll receive the same level of support if you're on free or gold membership - and where you buy gold membership doesn't matter at all :)

Game on!

Wrong. But funny bit of propaganda anyway.

And there are better deals ie Argos £33.99 for 14 months is £2.42p/m and you'r not entering any auto renewal subscriptions that can only be cancelled by phoning M$
