Just saw this in the spotlight section on the dashboard, have looked to see if it was posted before but hasn't.
Pretty decent offer for those that don't have Live or those that haven't got the family pack already.

is this for 4 different xbox live accounts ?
I believe so, I am not sure if you can use all 4 for yourself but I wouldn't see why not, if I am wrong maybe someone can clarify.

It is an excellent deal for a family. Unfortunately for me though it is only me and my son who play enough online, so I can't really justify it. I have been hoping for this for a few years as it never made sense to have each account paying for their own subscription.

i got a similar offer from my dashboard, i got Xbox Live Gold Family Pack (4 x 13 Months Xbox Live + 800 microsoft points) all for £66.

I have a radical idea. Let your family share 1 account = £30.

There you go, I've just saved you all £36-ish.

And what happens when you have more than one console in the house and you want to play against or with each other? :p

Sell the other one, and buy a 2nd controller. ;)

Achievements, online co-op, avatars, avatar DLC?
#11
It doesn't have to be the same house either...
#12
need to know if this is only for the same house ( same ip address) or could two house holds put together and have two accounts in each house? thus meaning each account just being £17.50.
cant see it tho as any four people could get it for £17.50.......but hope it is?

Achievements, ok I'll give you that, but come on.. co-op ? Do you really want to play co-op with your little sister or kid brother ? or your mum ? lol. avatars ? I'm sure no-one will really care, same for avatar dlc.

No it doesn't.

The Family pack can operate anywhere within the same Xbox Live region or country.

To add accounts to the Family pack, you need to sign-up on one console and then add in the other accounts (up to 3) on that same console. This means that you either have to transfer a profile by memory stick/card or re-download the profile via Live.

To use the family pack with friends works but you have to be able to trust one friend in particular with your account and to pay for the initial Family pack (and any re-occurring payment).

Microsoft points and DLC can be purchased as normal for each profile and the same licence methods apply regardless of being in the Family pack or single Gold Live subscriber (i.e. your Licence is tied to the Xbox it is first downloaded to and the Gamertag - the Gamertag licence allows you to play purchased content when connected to Live on a different console than the initial purchase).

Not what I read. It says some stuff about "What if Sonny Boy goes off to Uni, can he recover his account there? Why yes he can."

Regarding using the family pack in different houses etc here is the FAQ from XBox.com:
If someone leaves the household – for example a child who leaves for college – will they still be a part of my Xbox LIVE Gold Family Pack?

A: Yes, if a Family Pack member leaves home to go to college, they can simply recover their account on a different console and will still remain a part of the Xbox LIVE Gold Family Pack, as long as they reside in the same country as the primary account holder.

good question........

Any existing accounts added to the Family pack keep the Gamerscore & Name regardless of being Gold or Silver accounts.

Adding an existing Gold account to the Family pack gives the Family pack an extra 1 month for every 2 months remaining on that account.

Any remaining time on the account used to buy the Family pack is equal to £3 per month off of the cost on sign-up.

I don't think it's wrong for Microsoft to charge, because people are paying for it, so why stop? I don't pay (as I have a PS3) but many do. But I think the payment should enable the console to go online, I don't think you should have to pay for each person who uses it.

This was better when it was 800 Free MS Points, but still hot as it works out cheaper (just) than 2 seperate LIVE accounts (Cheapest about £30 for 12 months?) and you get extra Family Pack offers on Live Games & other DLC etc. A good deal for 2 and a steal for more than 2 accounts. You have to set up the accoutns on the same MAIN console but then use your A/C anywhere so fine for friends if you wanna share. You may run into some trouble with DLC licensing as DLC is registered to one console but that happens if you have 2 consoles in the same house anyway.

still a good deal

You can easily buy this then split it out among 4 seperate people in 4 seperate households. Now my question is:

"Can you buy a 'live' arcade game on one account and it be available across all 4 accounts? Just wondering because if I buy a game on my account I dont want to have to buy the same game AGAIN for my son etc. Anybody try this already?

Yes and yes but you'll need to get your nephew to bring his profile over to your Xbox on a memory stick or recover it on your Xbox to add it to the Family pack.

If all those accounts are on the first xbox it's downloaded to then any profile on that xbox can play those games. If you wanted to play the game on a different xbox it's only available to the profile that downloaded it, so you'd have to recover your profile on the other xbox or have your profile on memory stick, and you have to be connected to xbox live otherwise the game will be the demo.

I use this to get my arcade games on 2 machines. My friend recovers my account on his xbox, buys a game with my points then I recover my profile back. We can then both play the game, him on any account on his xbox and me back on mine as long as I'm signed into live.

Is this deal user specific though because we don't have this offer on our dashboard, only the regular £69.99 for the 12 months family pack???
#37
I have to say I mainly play RPG games (FAble III, Fallout, Mass Effect, final Fantasy, etc) most of them are offline anyway so XBOX Live Silver does the job for me.

When I want to play online mainly racing games NFS hot pursuit or strategy games like Starcraft II I use the PS3 or the PC.

With the money that you spend on XBOX Live get yourself a PS3 and have the best of both world. You can pay a PS3 with the fees of 2,5 family memberships.

I have owned an XBOX for over 3 years and so far I have only paid £1 for a month gold membership and that't it.

Great idea, with a single xbox membership at retail £39.99 you would have saved enough for a PS3 in about 5 years.....
