Cool. However I want Peggle reduced again.

Any recommendations from this list ? Defence Grid and Rocket Riot look good.

Rocket Riot is the one I'm thinking about getting from that list.

For people that are Gold subscribers, don't forget that Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2 is only 400 points all next week as well.

TY keep putting it off for RB DLC but now its a must!!

I have Lumines and Rocket Riot on that list and I think both are worth it. Lumines is a great puzzle game but you might want to look it up first as you only get the main game mode (despite there being more modes such as Puzzle and VS CPU) which you have to pay extra points for. I was happy to pay 800 for what I got though. Rocket Riot is absolutely great if you like retro games.
#6
May pick up south park. Will trial it out first.
#7
i want cheap castle crashers again !!
#8
This may be me being abit untrusting, however is there a link for this info?

I was looking through my past download history on MS.com and apparently I've bought the south park one. I don't even remember downloading the trial, let alone paying 800 MSP for something like that.

Fairly sure I've only bought 4 packs of points, plus 2200 won from promotions, and after adding everything up it doesn't make sense. It seems to have redownloaded though.

Paid full price for SF2 and can't play the damned thing! Good reduction though if that's your sorta thing
#10
Will get South park most probably.

Heat Added!

will look at some games, especially if local co-op :D
#13
Not dissing this deal. It's most likely welcome for many but what figs me off, is you can't resell XBLA stuff unlike real games :x
#14
CBA with MS Points.

Much prefer the PS3 system of actually charging you money for things.
Cheaper and easier.
#15
will get defense grid me thinks
#16
Defence Grid is good, as is age of booty which I bought for the ps3 when it was on offer. Didn't like Southpark though.

I got that on the 560points offer, totally wasted my money. I know it's top rated but I played it twice and never again, hated it.

There are downfalls to the points system, like having to buy more than you need, but it has it's benefits, for one I can find points for less than RRP, use vouchers to get them cheaper etc or trade in games towards them, I can't do that for PS3 as money is money, £10 will always equal £10 etc.

It's not cheaper though. For example, the game that came to XBLA today is Mega Man 10 for 800 MS Points, which is £6.80. That game is £7.99 on PSN. PSN has the advantage that you can pay an exact amount, but it is regularly more expensive for the same content and games and it still has a minimum wallet funding of £5, so you can still end up with money left over sometimes.

I'm sure at least one if not two of these were already at 400 points in the xbox live arcade hits section?
#23
C'mon peeps... let's not make ANOTHER 360 thread into a flame war between consoles eh...??

Stick to the topic!!

There's the Hyper Fightin' version of Street Fighter II in the Hits section. I think Lumines is in there too but at 800, down from 1200.

I think I might pick up SSFIIHDR and South Park and maybe look into Schizoid. If it's the one i'm thinking of, I think it's a space ship twin-stick shooter with an emphasis on co-op. Just waiting on some points to be delivered from The Hut though.
#25
Age of Booty was a lot of fun when it came out, though as with all XBLA games, the online goes quiet after a couple of months.

Defense Grid is also very good, though as it was in the Steam Xmas sale for about £1.50 I bought it then for PC (along with Braid, Trine and a bunch of others)
#26
Demo links to queue them up on your 360 via the Marketplace website: -

Age of Booty
Defense Grid: The Awakening
Lumines Live!
Mad Tracks
Rocket Riot
Schizoid
South Park: Let's Go Tower Defense Play!
Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix
Track & Field
Wallace & Gromit Episode 1

Download the trials, but obviously don't pay for the full versions of any of the games until the prices have dropped tomorrow!

Why do they call it the Xbox 360? :whistling:

Had hours of play out of defence grid, great if you like tower defense games and a nice difficulty curve.
south park was dire imho.

The question is when will trials hd next be on offer.....
#30
Age of Booty will be purchased thanks

I wouldn't mind that myself but i'm not counting on it. Trials has been amongst the top sellers each week amongst the Arcade games since it's release so if it's still making money, why bother putting it on sale?

I could see it maybe at Christmas if they repeat what they did last year. Castle Crashers is a similar story in terms of sales and that went on sale, albeit for 1 day.

Same here. I didn't like it either.

I've been playing Rocket Riot demo this evening and although it's good fun I won't buy it. It's big and colourful like Splosion Man but I got bored after 10 minutes.
Geometry Wars 2 at 400 points next week is worth it though (and it's been confirmed by Major Nelson).

Well not really.

If you have £0.00 in your account and go to purchase something at £7.99 then you can pay that exact amount so you don't have to put in more than you need.

Even then it's still more expensive than live. But you could get a deal on PSN cards and then you could save money. For example a £20 PSN card is £17.50 or something from The Hut. :)
#34
Nice.

I will be getting Schizoid :)

you can get this with ps3, they sell the "money" in packs of £20 and £50, both can be found at less then RRP which is weird, and both can be bought at places that allow trade ins.

I said that you can "sometimes" end up with money left over in your wallet which is absolutely true. If you ever buy a piece of content that costs less than £5 and you have no money in your wallet, you have to deposit £5 in order to buy it, which leaves you with funds left over.

GeorgeStobbart
But you could get a deal on PSN cards and then you could save money. For example a £20 PSN card is £17.50 or something from The Hut. :)

And 2100 MS Points card are available for £15 (sometimes a bit less) in several places. If you used those reduced prices to make the same comparison I made earlier, then Mega Man 10 would be about £5.70 on Xbox Live and £6.99 on PSN which makes it £1.29 cheaper on Live compared to £1.19 cheaper on Live if you buy direct through the consoles. Almost all 800 MS Point content on Live is £7.99 on PSN. Examples includes the map packs for previous COD games, the 5 DLC packs for Fallout 3 and lots of other content and games.

Because you see it, turn 360 degrees and walk away.

Can anyone recommend anything that's decent and 100 points or less? Have 100 left over from another purchase which I might as well use. I saw that the "Indie games" are 80 so maybe one of them?

If you turned 360 degrees, you'd still be looking at it.
