It's fine, PES is just **** online.

Same price in Currys btw.

the adaptor doesn't cause the lag, it depends on the speed of your internet and how strong your signal strength is from your router
#5
I use the adaptor on both of my 360's, pings where actually better than via a ethernet cable.

You can get them cheaper at CEX, they are around £35. Both the ones I got there where described as 2nd Hand, but came in full unopened retail packaging.
#6
my mate said his was 35 from tescos but hes not sure (probably wasn't)

adapter is fine cant tell the diff between it and wired. range is ok also and its alot neater then using a different bridge like those belkin 1s with power cables etc.

wireless adds about a 1ms ping.

It is a good price compared with most places but it's been that price for more than a year. :)

Voting hot. [just to make Hu5tler feel happy :)]

:D thanks lol

Just so everyone knows, you can connect your PC/laptop to your 360 to play on live just by plugging the ethernet cables in and setting a few settings (Not very convenient for most, but it'll save a few people some cash =))

I used to do that and my ping was awful. Want one of these, but will probably go to CEX as it's closer and cheaper

Bought one from my mate for £20 about two weeks ago when he got banned :P He raged so much about microsoft being ****holes that he sold the 360 and bought a PS3.

Now he's forced himself into a corner. He hates most things about the sony console, and he's lost his saves as he sold the 360 hdd along with it so is refusing to just pick up another.

*ahem*

Anyway. I do think the wifi should've been included as standard, as every other console on the block has it. But this adapter does work very well, and if you did choose the "connect to pc" option, this requires the pc to be active at all times, which blows. Best thing to do is either buy one of these, or connect straight into a router.

Now. I'm going off to play some sonic 2. These damn achievements are even causing me to play games i've completed like 30 times before!!!!

Here's one for 42 quid. free del. http://www.cex.co.uk/product.php?sku=882224035699

tell your friend that it was HIS/HER own fault he/she got banned from Live > as soon as you mod your XBOX, you run the risk of being banned.

# maybe Microsoft release another XBOX 360 SKU with: Internal WiFi, 250GB HDD, Internal HD DVD Drive, Better Cooling..... etc.

voted hot but only because hustler is a gooner :) as I already ordered one of these

Its a good price but its not a hot - its been this price at PC World for months.....
#16
Yeah this is the collect at store price for PCWorld.

It's good, the adaptor, and with the LIVE update means you can now play DIVX on your telly from your computer, utterly awesome.

Voted cold as I got mine for £35 over a year ago, it's been this price for ages (so not exactly a bargain!), and he's a gooner ;)
#18
Voted cold as I'm a Villa fan ;)

worto.

P.S. before you shout at me I didn't really - I voted hot - I got mine for about £42 from play-asia a while back but for 8 quid I'd go for this one now as it's not worth the possible hassle. It's still an awful lot of money for what it is though!

Wouldnt call this a Hot Deal as such, seems an average price to me. Surprised the price of these havent come down really.

Anyway the one I had was ****, connection kept on dropping out. Ending up selling it and getting a wireless ethernet bridge (Buffalo WLI-TX4-G54HP) for £35. Much better, has 4 ports so can connect ps2, wii, PC and 360 to it and connection is more stable now. Also ping is better than ethernet, surprisingly!

Dont quite agree with that personally. I think an adapter can have some bearing e.g. the cheap third party ones you can get.

was connection to 360 straightforward?

If your on about the bridge yes it was. I used a review on Ebuyer to set it up. Basically login to bridge via IP, (see link below) (as you would your router) and search for your wireless connection and enter encryption (plus set the bridge up with a static IP in same range as your router). Then once bridge is connected to your router your just plug a network cable from bridge to network port on xbox. Much more stable because your using network port on xbox rather than usb port.

No configuring needed on xbox as it detects it as a wired connection.

homeplugs?

The cheapest place to get a wireless adapter is play-asia.com and they are between £35-£40 depending on the doller converstion, plus you can pay by paypal. It is an asian version but works on any system because it uses a USB connection which is universal. I have ordered many times and never been taxed on import from them.
#27
I meant to add that it was an official Xbox 360 and not a third party one from play-asia.
#28
We need to use it as bt home hub upstairs, and xbox in coni so would need a very long cable. :o :friends:

i have one from play-asia it is an official ms 1 the box is not english but the adapter itself is the same and works on the european channel 13 as well as having english text only on the back of the actual adapter.

homeplugs?

I thought that - here's a link to some info I'm just reading it now, there is a section on there for 360 compatible ones.

http://www.homeplugs.co.uk/

worto.

edit - looks interesting FGEvans - which make\model do you have?
#31
Why don't you just connect your xbox to your PC and then share the connection. Or if you have a wifi laptop connect it to that. For what this is I think the price is a rip off TBH.

the adaptor doesn't cause the lag, it depends on the speed of your internet and how strong your signal strength is from your router

how can you say that... if you do get any lag it will be caused by the slowest point on the network between the source and your console, though most likely your ISP or its partner esp at peak times....if you are on ADSL, then usually the slowest point on any network is the DSLAM equipment in the Exchange - an ISPs traffic will route through a DSLAM....

eg there will be lag if he is try to run a 20mb connection to this device via a wireless b router, there will be lag if the contention ratio at his ISP is high esp at peak times

What he said was that the ADAPTER does not cause lag, so if the signal was fine and the bandwidth available, it'd be just as good as a wired connection.
If someone else is using bit torrent or the signal is ****, it's not the fault of the adapter.

Available at play asia for ~£45 http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-es-49-en-70-190l.html Got mine here and works just fine.
#35
