Yeah, just means console only - no bundled games.

Thanks.

A bit expensive then. Add a decent game for circa £42 and you are then close to the new console model bundles. Good del for Asda staff if they can get it on diiscount.

Add gears of war for £29.99 and you're at £179.
Chanchi posted a deal for 4 games for £179 this week so if you were planning on getting any games with this console it would work out cheaper doing the bundle. Even if you plan on selling the games!

It seems like the price for the XB1 has dropped a lot quicker than the 360.

I suspect that we are moving to an era with new consoles coming out every year from MS and Sony.

They are looking to milk people with minor incremental upgrades every year IMPO - marketed as if they are must have features. Some will figure this is about to happen. Others will never figure it out.

Every year? It's been nearly 3 years for the One S and PS4 Pro and they are both playing all the same games so there's no NEED to upgrade, only want. Scorpio will also be backwards compatible (and Sony would be stupid not to follow suit with the PS5). Every year oO

Best to ask if they have any stock out the back. The old consoles were removed from the Xbox chart a while back so more than likely any old stock will be shoved out back.

Depends on the version of the console, if you can check the side of the box or the description online

Yeah I know, but even if you just want one game like gears 4 then you've got the same deal as this.
Anything better than just gears is fairly likely to happen in a bundle.
That was just an extreme example.

Xbox one and xbox one s are there main variants. Xbox one will play all the same games as xbox except it can't output at 4k. If you've got a 4k TV and some 4k material that you can watch then the XBox one s would be the better choice. It can upscale games to 4k also which the older xbox one cannot do.

That's the main difference, the one s is a very cheap UHD Blu-ray player essentially with gaming capability to boot. It's also significantly smaller, like 40% smaller but looks tiny compared to the old console!

The old xbox comes in 500gb, and 1tb variants but if you need more storage you can just attach a portable hard drive.

There is also the elite which is the old model, it has a 1tb hybrid drive which gives a mild speed improvement with booting times.

Black friday might see £100 ???

It wouldn't surprise me if a retailer went really low just to raise the headcount in the store...and hope they sell a more expensive package when stock is depleted. But at a £100...nah, £150 is the lowest it will ever go with some awful game.

Which model is the slim version? And is there a PS5 available? Also looking for which to buy for my 7 year old (wants for minecraft to play with his friends but believe this won't be available until mid 2017?(across platforms??) Which is the best and why? (bear in mind for a 7yr old to last a few years hopefully). Thanks in advance for your help.

The Xbox Scorpio coming out in 2017 looks far from an incremental upgrade. Maybe they'll be releasing a model every 2 years with an 'S' version in between such as Apple do with iPhones.

wha do you mean by xbox one elite being the old model? older that one S i assume, right? is the same generation as the normal xbox one, maybe slightly newer because of the elite hard drive and controller.
