I'm confused why people keep saying £XX for the console, surely if you buy the deal and sold all the games then you'd have nothing to play.. i don't understand!

I was just estimating the cost of the console on its own to see how good the deal actually is. Though bear in mind that people who do want to sell the games may have played them already or just aren't interested in them and will buy others.

It's a bit of a benchmark as to how good the deal is I suppose. Secondly, it might be a good price but if they aren't the games you really want, it helps illustrate whether it's worth going through the hassle of selling them on and purchasing the ones you do want or whether it's better to buy console only.

Seems like they're pretty much all downloads (can't tell with Wolfenstein), so you can't sell them off for a cheap console. Still a very good price though and should keep you busy 'til the new year when all the other games are cheaper!

Perhaps people do not like the games bundled with it so intend to sell ASAP and buy a game they like?

Be careful selling codes. I sold an Xbox Live Gold card on Ebay. The buyer was adamant it didn't work even though it was sealed and from Argos, she filed a Paypal claim and they sided with her.

You wouldn't be able easily sell 3 out of 4 of the games as they are digital codes not physical copies.
#15
lol Mid great input. I understand the above points and the benchmark if you sell the games etc to purchase your own game, just think after the time (money) / effort to do that it would be better just purchasing the console and game you really want. Also these are downloads i believe so selling them are going to be a pain.

Sounds like an ebay shyster to me. Did she send the card back?

Ha, no she didn't... The lack of conversation made me realize it was her trying it on, but I'm at her mercy.

I'd like this, if I could offload the games provided for a reasonable sum I'd be onto it rightaway.

Thanks OP, after not getting the Asda Kinect deal and not able to get one of the MS £40 off vouchers to use at Game, thought I was never going to grab one. If my son decides he wants Kinect he can always trade-in his 360 to CEX after Christmas. Chuffed, well I will be when it gets delivered, tested and wrapped under the tree :D

This is why I no longer sell on eBay, it is to easy for sellers to claim item faulty or never arrived, they know what they are doing, you can also usualy tell which ones are likely to say the item has not arrived as they startt complaint within 48 hours of the item not arriving even though it is still not late. And as for the ones that say the item did not work/faulty you have no way of knowing if it is something they are doing to all sellers. For all you know they could be opening cases for nearly every item they buy.

I'm 44, so no. Although it's for my son, I'm sure I'll get some enjoyment from it :)

I've been buying and selling on ebay for 12 years and have learned a couple of things:

The lower value the item the more hassle you will have - people opening cases and leaving neutral feedback for a £3 item. But sell a £100 item and its generally fine??

I've also had people opening cases because the postman has delivered to the wrong house, and they didn't bother contacting me first to look into it...

Anyway, sorry, i digress - way off-topic

Nah I don't sell codes on Ebay for exactly that reason, they're far too biased towards the buyer. Gumtree is the only way I'd sell them as I can show the buyer in person that they're sealed.

Just for anyone getting this for their kids for x-mas - my girlfriend got her xbox and the game downloads on her 8 meg (i know its not superfast fibreoptic) took her 3 days a piece.

Just for the people like me who got ripped off by 247 has anybody demanded a refund from bank? Got mine straight away x
#26
Goodluck if you can get it..

Look at the other shopto threads and their recent negative feedback on ebay.

20 years ago, it was frowned upon to play games over the age of 16. Nowadays, there's no stigma attached whatsoever, unless you're speaking to a middle aged hear-say goon who'd sneer at anything they don't understand. But ignore them, and game your life away!

Apparently the average age of a gamer is 32 now! I'm 41 & I'm buzzing about getting a new console for Christmas :D
