5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant! 16 Feb 2014

Decided to buy a charging dock as the controllers seem to drain batteries within days so I was looking for a cheaper option. It comes with around a meter long usb cable which plugs straight into the xbox and charges even when the console is turned off in power saver mode so there's no need for any plug sockets.
The controllers sit in the cradle with ease, literally just fall into place so there's no fiddling around trying to put them in. There are two indicating lights on the front of the cradle (left for the front controller and right for the back) which change from red to green when the charge is complete. It took around 4 hours for the first charge but thought I'd try putting them back on charge straight away for a couple more hours for maximum charge.
So far they've lasted some really lengthy sessions (some as long as 6 hours) and I just put them back on charge once I've finished and they're ready for the next session! It does however advise you to take the controllers off charge once they're complete to maximise battery life for future use which is a bit of a ball ache but it's easy to put them on charge when watching tele and take them off when they're finished.
Overall I'm really happy with this item and have recommended it to all of my friends and would do to anyone who owns an Xbox One.

Is it recommended to use rechargeable specifically designed for the xbox one or am I OK using duracell rechargeables? Been using duracell rechargeable in my 360, wii and ps3 remote since 2011 and never had any problems

It looks like you don't need battery's for these the backpacks are actually rechargeable.

But theoretically could it charge up 2 aa rechargables (3 controllers you see)?

Anyone read any issues about over charging? Seen some people say that they can overcharge and damage the battery. What are people doing once they are fully charged? Just taking them off the stand?
