If this is legit then this is a fantastic deal...

There must have been around 8-10 boxes to take to the till with a 50-50 mix of the two bundles. Worth a call to the store but it usually means each box represents stock - but I have suffered at the hands of Toys r Us before after taking a game box to the till to be told they can't find it. Having said that, it was the last box - there wasn't multiple boxes like this

There were 4 left in Basingstoke when I left at 2pm. As I said yesterday, none in Woking.

If your 360 is near your wireless router you can connect to the router directly using the supplied network cable. You will be able to connect straight away as you get a months trial Gold membership.

If you wish to have your 360 in a different room you will need to buy an official network adaptor, a gaming bridge or some other way of wireless connection.

Some rechargeable batteries (AA) for the controllers will come in very useful.

just select silver and it will automatically upgrade you as a first time user to gold for 1 month.

I think this is the way XBOX deals are going to go now (with a bit of luck anyway)
With the PS3 cuts and bundles and the new XBOX, the older versions will have to go cheap.
Although is a great price.

I was only in Oldbury Toys R Us yesterday looking at the £4.99 games for the 360 listed from a different thread.

This is a very hot deal. However, compared to the recent £299 deals with 3 games and an extra wireless controller its all relative with costing the Xbox 360 & HD alone worked out then for about £180 the same as this would with the bundled game. Pro Evo 7 is just out on classics range and Call of Duty 3 is also discounted now.

This is an excellent choice for those not wanting a bundle deal where they can then choose their own games however, heat and rep added. Buy one of these and a Wii and still have change for a bag of chips compared to the PS3 lol.

If you think you want it - get it ASAP! The amount of times I've pondered on whether I should buy or not buy on other items on this site, a day later I decide I do infact want to buy the item, then bang it's sold out/expired!

So my advice is get it while you still can.

i reckon this deal is a harbinger of what prices will be in the run up to christmas anyway so i am just gonna sit tight till then....

I think you're being a TAD bit optimistic with that pricing!!
The PS3 isn't going to be sub-£300 for a while i reckon, xbox elite or not.. :-(

you might want the elite thou, seeing as the HD European video marketplace is being launched on the same day as the elite [24th August]

Aren't the prices coming down because the new 360, Falcon, which will be smaller and more reliable is coming out in the Autumn? The older bulkier 360's will be cluttering up 2nd hand stores soon!

A bit like buying a PC this, you can wait for ever and there will be be a cheaper deal just around the corner. I say that if you want to play it now - buy it now as this is a very good deal. I personally wouldn't worry about the elite and I wouldn't expect it to trigger any kind of price fall. All you get with the elite is a bigger HD that you don't really need (video marketplace may change this but downloading 10gb hidef films with British broadband architecture isn't likely to be a huge thing imo) and a HDMI that is a nice to have but only required if your Hidef TV doesn't have component inputs.

I cant imagine the prices getting much cheaper that this for Premiums this year, even with the impending release of the Elite and even with Xmas coming up. This really is a great price.

This is an amazing deal, coupled with the fact that 360 games are so afordable is just even better! £4.99 for some games in toys r us and theres loads of games available online for around £17.99.
With such an impressive back catalogue of games already and price tag it's gonna be hard for the ps3 to beat it.

Yeah it may have reliability issues, but after microsofts announcement 2 weeks ago they have extended the warranty for 3 years now, so it's not as big of an issue any more.
