Welcome to HUKD :)
Have you used this Company before, can you recommend them?

Are these any good? I've been told before that you need the proper xenon £300 kits to see any real difference. It also looks like a set, low and high beam, would be £50 for my car !!!

I upgraded mine on my last car, and yes they were perhaps better in terms of output, but they are no xenon alternative - they haven't got that bluey white glow to the light.

Powerbulbs seem to do a clear white and a blue tint version so I guess you must have got the clear white ones? Just checked on ebay and I can get a full blue tint set for £20 delivered, anybody know how these compare to the powerbulbs ones?

I have proper xenons and I can confirm that the bulbs are no where near the same thing as proper xenons (with ballasts). A look into the technology clarify further.

They are a good company. I've used them a lot in the past.

Some of the Philips range do perform better than standard bulbs but don't be fooled in thinking that they will achieve the same effect and performance as a proper HID system (xenon).

There are other type of blue tinted bulbs out there - particularly favoured by the Max Power/boy racer brigade. These are so heavily tinted that they don't realise the blue wavelength is actually cutting down the amount of light they're putting down on the road!

I think mine were called philips ice blue or something, which kind of implies they should have had a bluey hint, but they didn't.

Personally, if you need new bulbs or your own bulbs are really naff, then yes go for it, but i wouldnt if you think in some way its going to be an 'upgrade'

Cheaper here

I would avoid the blue tinted version as they give a less powerful output. I used the white ones and had problems with the lenses misting I think because they run hotter than standard bulbs causing the sealing of the headlamp units to fail. Be warned.

Re HID lamps they fit these on BMWs and they are so poor the drivers need fog lamps on all the time to make up for it.:whistling:

I have HID'S and there great. far superior, had the same car before this with normal headlights and the HID's are way better.
most people put fogs on when they dont need them for the look. and fogs do little to help unless its foggy funnily enough.

And what look would that be? No, don't answer that, I think I know.

fogs will light up alot more road, foggy or not.... lol.
Of course they make a massive difference, as they have no deflector over the bulb... they are the same as having your full beam on, on alot of cars, i know my fog bulbs are the same rating as my full beam.

However, anyone who put them on when its not foggy / heavy rain, is a rite tit.
