PS3 is great at playing directly from any memeory stick, just plug it in

Good price but limited in use, I'd rather pay extra and have something more flexible with files and resolution, then it will last a good few years than be stuck with having the limititations of this device than have to replace it in the short term.

This device has everything, more expensive but when you look at the featureset - includes youtube, and pretty much any format you can think of and the remote quality you can see why.

My dads just got one of these. Its great. He has a 320GB hdd plugged into it and it works great. He was getting fed up with burning discs just to watch something once. plays avi files great and pretty good picture too. a bargain for the price i think. it will pay for itself if he hasnt got to use as many discs

for a bit more.. (and i know a lot of pple dont like the bit more).. you can get the sumvision cyclone fusion, which does pretty much everything this does, but is actually a HDD dock as well. You can add external HDDs to it as well, so you can have upto 6TB of content!!! I know.. a LOT!!

£30, but added functionality of the HDD dock, and it is 1080p not i!

Really? wow I didnt notice... :giggle:

I was only hinting at the fact that a PS3 would play these from a memory stick or ext HD, just in case the OP or anyone didnt realise and had a PS3 already.

The only drawback I can see of this would be a HDD whirring away in the background while you are trying to watch films that aren't out yet and have poo sound to start with... And it's ugly!

Heheh!!!

TBh, I have one.. I bought a 1.5Tb 5900RPM drive for £69 and it works a treat.. the sound is not even present!! The LED is a pain, but you can blue tac it!! For the price it is a gr8 piece of kit, specially since it will work with both CRT and LCD's and is easily moved around!! I have a PS3 as well, and TBh the PS3 makes more noise than the 5900 RPM HDD in teh dock. Though I am not sure how lound a 7200Rpm drive will be!!

would this be any better?
