Means I can use any of their gyms and it's only a tenner a month. Signed a 12 month contract. Few of my mates told me about it that use their other gyms and they signed up through the one in Edinburgh.

Anyone used thegym group? There's one opening near me and I wondered if anyone had any experience with them

Sounds cheap, but what's a gym?

It's normally 14.99 on the website? And it's nothing to pay for the first month as well. On the website it's like 35 quid to start.

I've been with the gym group for just over 12mths. Wouldn't go back xercise4less even if someone paid my membership..

You not like it? Seems good to me so far and had good feedback from friends. Not always the same in every gym though!

1 out of 10 for a well constructed argument.

I've been using exercise4less for over two years now, £9.99 per month peak and faultless.
I wish they'd add a sauna / steamroom option at a higher rate, but too many rules and regulations I suppose.
I was paying £300 at the local council gyms, but you had swimming and health suites included.
£9.99 per month is a gimmee to be honest.
The gyms do get abuse, members passing out their pass details, but that will cease in a couple of weeks time with the biometrics introduction!

Great feedback. Thanks for that! Just what I thought and not been here long. Seems great for a tenner a month!

people had no respect at the one I went, plates and dumbbells all over. spent most of the looking for the weights, staff didn't give a ****.... cancelled my membership one December and they continued to take payments for 4 months. took a month to get my money back off them.

I did hear of issues with cancelling, but I often wonder if those cancelling did it properly.
One way out is to tell them you are re-locating, somewhere where they don't have their gyms like London or abroad. But, you shouldn't have to fight to cancel after you've completed your 12 month membership. I have heard positive though, so not all bad.
I have two gyms I use and luckily, both are fairly well maintained. You do get the odd issue with weights not being replaced, but that was also a problem at my local council gyms. Down to ignorance in my opinion, a bit like not wiping the machines down after use.

What one was that? I'll make sure I avoid it! The one I go to is well maintained. Someone's always about tidying.

scotland exercise4less are all pretty good cos they're new too.

my local one is run down as it is one of the oldest and clearly xercise4less don't really update and redo their gyms like puregym. I asked the manager of my xercise4less if they have plans to redo it cos it's looking run down and he got defensive saying it's not up to him and in his eyes it's maintained to a high standard and is very clean and he's been a trainer for X years. Its clean enough but as I told him I can do my workouts and its not a problem...I was just providing feedback which obviously wasn't taken politely as I meant it -_-

biggest bugbear is that people don't put plates away at this gym. during a PT session even the trainer's tell clients to leave plates on bars. everyone puts dumbbells in random slots on the stand so it's always a hunting game.

I'm used to it now
