excellent price for a network-ready colour laser, although possibily supplied without a full set of toner carts.
the freebie toner included is just the black.

some assumptions:
if the printer is supplied with a complete set of full toners and there are 4 toners in the set costing about £130 delivered, then it's cheaper to buy new printers than it is to buy replacement toner :w00t:
anybody know if a complete set of full toners is included with this printer? (plus the freebie black).

answer my own question by quoting from bottom of Xerox product info page:
"Prices do not include any supplies, additional print charges or applicable taxes..."
which suggests this printer is supplied without any toner (except for the freebie black), so assume to budget for an additional £100+ before it can even be used.
now looks not quite so good a deal

spoke to Insight to check & they say it does include a full set of carts. They pointed me at the product page (if you click from the bundle page into the printer's own page there's more info).

Here's what it says:

Consumables Included

1 x toner cartridge ( black ) - up to 1500 pages

1 x toner cartridge ( cyan ) - up to 700 pages

1 x toner cartridge ( magenta ) - up to 700 pages

1 x toner cartridge ( yellow ) - up to 700 pages

1 x waste toner collector - up to 5000 pages

1 x intermediate transfer unit - up to 20000 pages
So looks like all that plus the spare black cart for free :p

heat & rep added.

Why is this deal not much hotter?
IT costs more than this for the 3 colour Toners, without the 2 b&W toners included.

This printer is £160 in PC World and £201 on ebuyer.com, both without the extra B&W Toner.

...Why is this deal not much hotter?
IT costs more than this for the 3 colour Toners, without the 2 b&W toners included...

the set of toners supplied with this unit are not full, in so much that the indicated page count is less than that of replacement toner i.e.
black: toner for 1500 pages supplied with printer; replacement toner = 2000 pages
colours: toner for 700 pages supplied with printer; replacement toner = 1000 pages
so probably best describe toner supplied with printer as 70% full, or 30% empty.
debateably still cheaper to buy another printer just for the toner !!!

Fair comment.

It's still 75% & 70% full and the spare toner is 100% full.

It is still cheaper to buy this than 70% of the rainbow pack and an extra Black Cartridge and seems like a decent printer to have given the £200 price tag at ebuyer.com

I still prefer this option to buying a complete set of toners for my existing laser printer for £180.

Still hot imho

This is the same print engine as the Samsung CLP300, the only difference is that the toner refill has a different ID chip so you can't swap them around easily.

Now £82.98 (£88.84 delivered using cheapest option).
#14
Now down to £88.10 delivered for the bank holiday weekend, that's a whole 74p off!

Excellent spot there bingsy. As stated, this is basically the same printer as the Samsung CLP300n. The Samsung CLP300 is on £30 cashback promo at the moment but this is the network version and it comes with the free black toner cart. I'm in!
#15
£82.24 + delivery (£4.99)

is this any good???

seems like a fantastic price for a colour laser ethernet printer

do they deffinatly come with full carts?
#16
Are they easy to refill?
[mod]#17
This deal is still available for £88.10 delivered with the extra black toner.

Excellent bit of kit I think, install instructions were a bit limited but once all assembled I printed a test page before attempting to connect to a pc or network (yes its network ready too) all looked good so connected to my main pc via usb and installed the software. Then as I have 2 ISP's I connected it via network to the other ISP's modem router so the family can all print to it. Installed the networking software on the other kit in the house (xp and Vista) and test runs found it to be working fine.
At this price its almost a case of use it till the toner runs out then ebay the unit and buy another, but I will probably just go for refills on the toners as that looks like a cheap way to keep it going.

Insight have 97 in stock at time of writing this.

Whoops, thanks for that, I have updated the OP so the link now goes to the correct page with the bonus ink on it.

As you say only 13 left, though even without the bonus black its a pretty nice deal.
#22
So are lasers better value for money than injects? I know you get a better print from them.
You don't have to buy new toners as often as you would have to by ink carts?
#23
Hi

Does anyone know if this will this run on an xp pro 64 bit system without any issues (software / driver etc.?)

Thanks
#24
excellent deal! can't believe you get network-ready colour laser &starter toners & spare black toner for less than 90 quid. incredible. have some rep & heat for this!

As far as I can see yes this is a bare printer. These guys seem to be part of IT247 and they have the same printer on offer for £91.47 delivered (no extra black toner)

Although it does say in the specs

1 x toner cartridge ( black ) - up to 1500 pages ¦ 1 x toner cartridge ( cyan ) - up to 700 pages ¦ 1 x toner cartridge ( magenta ) - up to 700 pages ¦ 1 x toner cartridge ( yellow ) - up to 700 pages ¦ 1 x waste toner collector - up to 5000 pages ¦ 1 x intermediate transfer unit - up to 20000 pages

Just checked and this one says it comes with a full set of black and colour toner cartridges! £24.65 delivered!
#27
This seems to be similar to the samsung 300 colour laser which I have. Its a great printer.
#28
how much are the refill kits for this?
#29
Excellent price, voted hot. Also ordered one, so 12 left now. :D
#30
I just ordered one over the phone. They come with colour cartridges but the woman told me they only have a little toner in them to print out a couple of test sheets. She said they can be taken to a local "refiller" and are the same ones you would buy just with only a smidgen of toner in them.

Can you confirm which merchant offer your refering to, Insight or an other?
