Please comment as printers can be really difficult to judge without actually having one

This should be a fairly good printer. I have a 6130 from Xerox and the prints are good.

The only shame here is that they are including tiny capacity cartridges at 500 pages each.

I just bought the 6110 and have been very pleased with it. Unfortunately small capacity toners are the norm now but you are getting a free set of colours. The 6110 can be refilled at about £50 and I see no reason why this should not be the same. The best thing about it is that it works reliably without the constant attention the inkjets seem to need.

I have this printer which also came with the free colour toners. Mine is the 6125N model, but I don't know what the V indicates.

I ordered an extra black toner because of the low capacity of the one included, which I had to replace after about 4 months. The free toners are full capacity.

Compared with other laser printers I have had, the toners are tiny, so don't take up a huge amount of space while waiting to be used.

The printer is quick to output its first page, and isn't too noisy. It is good for small home networks, and is very easy to set up.

Recommended.

are these any good at printing photos or is it strictly colouful spreadsheets?

Just ordered one from Printerland.co.uk. They have a "price beater" standing offer and agreed to ship next day for 58p less :-)

Also noticed this on Xerox's site

http://www.office.xerox.com/latest/61XFM-01E.pdf

Maybe possible to get a free B+W toner too :-)

Not as good as a photo printer. You won't get good quality photo prints.

I bought this in the last offer. So far so good. It gets a lot of use. I have changed the black cartrdige once (£40, ouch). The colours are 80% full still. Nice little printer and a bonus they sent me two sets of coloured cartridges Although the cartirdges don't have an expiry date so I don't know how long they will keep for...

A few disadvantages:
- it is big
- black cartridges are expensive
- it doesn't do A3
- it doesn't do double sided

I didn't see this had been posted before, but what's your point? The only reason they sell these cheap is to get the ongoing consumables. However it depends on how much you use it, how much it will cost you. I find inkjets expensive to run as if you don't use them regularly cleaning seems to drink the ink. I use cheaper refilled cartridges but quality does vary and they never seem to print properly when you are in a hurry.

You can buy a toner refill pack here http://www.zinetic.co.uk/Xerox_Phaser_6125_Toner_Refill_Rainbow_Pack-details.aspx.
Still a bit dearer than it should be, but at 4p/page at 5% still cheap printing compared to just a few years ago.

So with the free toner, it should be around ~6.6p/print at normal coverage for the first ~1500 prints? That sounds ok. After that, could always bin the whole printer if more toner is still too expensive...
#13
yup - in a world seemingly obsessed with energy conservation, good to see manufacturers are still being ALLOWED to produce disposable printers....

Ordered and received the printer the next day. Very easy to set up. Works with XP and Vista on my laptop. Amazed by the quality of the print when printing some photographs, so much so I am ordering some photo paper (270 gsm).

Agree it seems good quality - just remember all the running costs are based on 5% coverage. Full page photos are 100% coverage, so each full page print of a photo costs 20x as much!! And "1000 page toner" will last only ~50 prints at that rate!

Would I qualify for this offer, as I bought same printer in june, and same off of free CMY back then.

if i buy it now, will I qualify ? Cant see anything in their terms mentioning previous purchases , I need new toners soon, so may as well just buy another printer (!)

?
#17
will it work with photo paper ? will the paper jam the printer ?

ALSO - any one have any news about my previous post ?
#18
Just noticed that the web discount for this printer has increased to £66, so the printer cost is now only £49.99 and still comes with the Free Toners.

This is now as cheap as the 6110n, but is a much faster printer.

Bought one of these using the £66 off code (which they've pulled now). Amazing deal, and an excellent printer, even for photos. Ridiculously high running costs, as always with cheap printers, and it certainly makes sense to buy a second printer with the free toner offer rather than buy the toners.
