Is this one of the specials where you have to be a member of the forum and have over 500 posts?
#4
Seeing as there only going to be 10, maybee this should go under "competitions" rather than "Deals".

Voted cold, i just read that this is the very GFX card that Jon Venables used on his home PC...

Once the Nvidia cards come out the ATI cards will drop to around £200.

Nvidia Claim that the new 480 will be faster than the 5870. I doubt they will seriously undercut the price of the 5870, so i don't really see these cards coming down that much for a while...

My thoughts exactly, the 480 is meant to be priced closer to the 5890 on release for gods sake! And its from NVIDIA themselves who are saying it will barely just beat the 5870!

Only if Nvidia seriously slash the cost of their fermi cards will these come down, could be a good 6 months before that happens...

I'm going to try getting one, tho knowing my luck I'll miss out. as the saying goes, you've got to be in it to win it.

These ATI 5870 cards will definitely come down in price eventually, but If you can grab one of the few available today (17th March) for only £234.99 Inc. VAT then you've got a stonking bargain. I mean this is 100 quid cheaper than other outlets are selling 5870's for and I'm wondering how Aria can do it at this price without losing money, then again they're only selling a very limited amount, you've got to register, and it will attract punters to their site if only for the free next day delivery for forum members

Bad news for anyone hoping on getting some at 1pm or 4pm...

Hi there

Right guys, seems for some reason our website has not worked quite as well as it did on these type of previous deals.

As such we've not only oversold but all our stock has sold out of this product we had allocated at this price.

The good news is, that everyone who order one this morning will be getting a card at this special price.

The bad news is we have now sold out for the entire day, we have no more available at this price I am afraid, so well done to those who were up nice and early.

I heavily doubt it considering the small performance increase of the 480, it's also a fair bit more expensive, thus ATI doesn't need to lower it's pricing to stay competitive.
