Before you say i know this is a very old card and will not be able to play games such as crysis but at £12.87 i think this would put a nice touch to a cheap home built computer it may not be great but can do dual vga which may be a treat for some.

I know that this will probably get posts about its age and quality but for £12.87 + p&p on top wat do u have to lose will certainly be better than onboard graphics plus you know its built well as it is xfx.

ITS 64MB only.

The rest is shared RAM.

sucks even more now.

Just the nomal dodgy Savasore ad mthinks.

I think its £4.99 as the weight is 0.5 and the 2.99 is for less than 0.5.... cold if it is 4.99... wish I could change my vote.

Im sorry but i really cant recommend this card to anybody, no matter how cheap it is. If you want to play anything at any reasonable combination of quality/resolution this just wont cope im afraid.

Your graphics card is the single most important component in terms of performance, this is one area where you should not compromise. Im sure some will disagree but we're all entitled to our own opinion. For your interest you should look at http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/cpu-gpu-upgrade,review-30828.html

as for knowing buying a branded version of a super cheap graphics card....i think many would rather buy a budget version of a better card than this surely??

I think about the best card at that end of the market is http://www.dabs.com/productview.aspx?Quicklinx=50YS&CategorySelectedId=11137&PageMode=1&NavigationKey=11137,11 as its a reasonable card and a reasonable price.

Im not voting this cold as it is a good price for a cheap graphics card. Im not voting hot because there are better deals about im afraid.

Keep up the bargain hunting though :)

I just want a dual output. not to play games on. its for my gf's machine so she can work easier. if the deal one was free or cheaper delivery i would snap it up. no one really expects to play games with this. (i think anyway)

That's 2 generations back (3 if you count the 9600 as gen 9) and not a very good card new - I know, I bought one for an old HP machine like 4 years ago. You can probably get a 7300LE which will run rings around that card for about as much money.

Well if your looking just at spec then I would go for this at that price.

http://www.ebuyer.com/product/144594

Yes its an unbranded but at this price point I'll take the increased spec over the branding

Is this card better than the "Nvidia Geforce 8400 GS" I have in my computer?

you have to realise that not everybody wants to play games. this card would be ideal for someone looking for a quiet pc that is used for work or study.

Sorry i do understand that yes, but these days most software require at least a basic level of 2D graphics processing. Im not claiming to be anything more than a part-time enthusiast but i think something like this will be bordering on what a recent peice of software, such as office 2007, would require. I know your not all using 2007 (in fact im not a big fan of it myself) but why, for the sake of ten or fifteen pounds begin to limit what applications you can run?

http://www.dabs.com/productview.aspx?Quicklinx=50YS&CategorySelectedId=11137&PageMode=1&NavigationKey=11137,11#specifications

This is a much better card for the cheaper end of the market, and has dual DVI output for those that require it.

Im not flaming the post, i think for an XFX card this is very cheap. However im just trying to advise anyone to spend a little more on a card.

Just a correction i think its dual vga not dual dvi. But this will make a budget pc look a little bit better yes we all know this wont play any of the newer games but as stated above say you just want dual display and xfx this is a bargain.

But also another point is that everyone is entitled to there own opinion as long as they dont vote cold without stating why.

on the contrary buddy, im not voting cold at all. I think you have found a good graphics card for the price. I would just recommend that a little more dosh is spent, its worth the extra you see. Anyway i didnt mean to offend im just trying to offer my little bit of advice (called boredom :whistling: )

no offence taken and none was supposed to be given was just stating the fact that some people vote cold without stating why.
