It doesn't help that nvidea cards have a totally illogical numbering sequence.

See here for illumination and comparison between nvidea and ati:

Take it this is PCI-E. I'm looking for a fast AGP one under £50 ready for windows 7 :)

your best bet is 3650/3580 altho neither are very fast in the latest titles.
so far i have found this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sapphire-11129-02-20R-3650-512MB-Graphics/dp/B001HQHZ4A/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1248986065&sr=8-3 £50.25
£50.25 http://www.dabs.com/products/sapphire-technology-radeon-hd-3650-512m-ddr2-agp-58NS.html
Ati catalyst drivers for windows 7 32 and 64 bit http://news.softpedia.com/news/ATI-Catalyst-9-7-Drivers-for-Windows-7-DirectX-11-Deliver-a-Seamless-User-Experience-117765.shtml
if u have free delivery at scan scan is slightly cheaper http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/512MB-Sapphire-HD-3650-AGP-4x-8x-128-Bit-1000MHz-GDDR2-GPU-725MHz-120-Cores-2x-DL-DVI-I-HDTV if you desire something faster upgrade your computer, as AGP is very old and ati/nvidia no longer design agp graphics cards.
£48.67 excluding delivery, available to collect in store at central london http://www.yoyotech.co.uk/sapphire-3650-512mb-graphics-card-p-134602.html
at the moment no agp graphics card will be shipped with the new catalyst drivers, as these drivers are newly released and the grahics cards were released a few years ago.
i know ati has released windows 7 catalyst drivers for its products but as i do not own the graphics card or use windows 7 i cannot comment on how stable it runs.

unless you really can't afford to I'd save the pennies for a new machine rather than chase around to keep your agp system going. I doubt any agp card would be a worthwhile investment.

agreed, try looking at those deals such as the one from dell where you get free upgrade to windows 7 or learn how to build your own gaming pc.
if anybody is interested theres a 1gb ati 4670 £54.10 http://www.ebuyer.com/product/169491
