I'm guessing it's the age old "300-odd quid for a video card....bloody rip-off"!
#4
This is kinda 300 odd quid for two video cards, bloody good ones too! Heat added!
#5
yeah but how much wold ths card cost smewhere else?

Not that I've noticed:thumbsup:

Think the problem is a 4890 only costs £135 and will do 99% of gamers. Before the '295 is more powerful' then yes it is but a 4890 will be fine for all but the most harden gamers. If you have crossfireX support on your motherboard you could buy 2x 4890 and still have £60 spare( or to spend on the monster PSU needed!)

Just to point out did not vote hot or cold.

It's a cold deal. Price isn't everything here, value comes into to it too ... A card for half the price gives only about 30% less performance. So ...........

the exact card is £369.98 on Ebuyer http://www.ebuyer.com/product/167974
According to Ebuyer its the single pcb edition.
I guess this is going to be my last post of a high end product.

Hot from me as this card is the cream of current gpu's!

The only thing that makes me squirm slightly about spending so much on a gpu right now is that, allegedly, the new dx11 cards will be out in q4 of this year?

At least thats what I heard last time I checked?

Anyhow heat added
#13
would a 4890 be a vast improvement on a 8800gt...im thinking of an upgrade.

the "old guard" as I call them on this website are a load of to***rs mate. Im fed up of me and others like you finding decent deals and then getting flamed because you can get it cheaper down your local boot fair or if you glue to dustbins together its just as good.

This site is so very useful but idiots who vote things like this cold because there is another product abit like it are spoiling it bigtime.

If you post an item and that exact item can not be found cheaper anywhere else (or close) then its a deal. Not every item is to alls liking I realise but I wouldnt vote cold because it was cheaper last year or because you wouldnt buy it.

(insert getting flamed/kicked here). :whistling:

To be fair, there's always something better around the corner in the world of computers.

This is a cold deal.
#19
For those that want the fastest graphics card available at retail, this is it, at the cheapest price.

The argument over whether you prefer ATI or Nvidia is irrelevant to whether this is a hot deal.

A pair 4890's are not as fast as a single 295 so should not be compared with price.
#20
For the fastest graphics at the highest resolutions you want triple SLi GTX 285's.
#21
Well as the votes suggests ... not a good deal :)

In my terms a deal as to be good value and something different, what I mean is ... there's always a lowest price for the best of the best, doesn't make it a good 'deal' though, does it? ... So subjective this site, FYI I refrained from voting cold.
#22
according to xfx this should come with assasins creed mfr#: GX-295N-HWFA http://xfxforce.com/en-gb/products/graphiccards/200series/295GTX.aspx
