Not worth paying extra for a very very slightly better card. http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html

I attempted to buy a netbook that claimed to have hundreds in stock, only to later receive an email stating that it was out of stock, and a refund should be given.
I did not get my refund and had to do a chargeback through my bank.

i'd check some in-game benchmarks rather than the chart you've posted and see how they really compare.
if you do want a 6850 though, it is cheaper at crescent electronics

that is a bit concerning, when did this happen? did you report them?
I had a different experience with this company in the last week. I placed an order last Thursday using the free delivery option and over the weekend I realised I required some RAM quicker than that so placed another order online on Sunday. I phoned them first thing Monday to cancel the earlier order and the second order arrived today and my refund has already hit my bank account; I was just looking at it.
I paid with a debit cad which is why the refund was so quick to show in my account.
Did you chase up the refund with the retailer after it didn’t materialise or go straight to your bank? From experience quite a few retailers are slow to refund and I tend to leave it 10 to 14 days before chasing it up with them. The funds usually arrive by then and it saves me a phone call. The exception was MicroDirect who took forever and I was ready to contact my card company at that point but the funds finally appeared.

Threre is a bigger difference than passmark software would suggest; typically about 10-15%. The extra £15 or so is probably worth it, unless your budget is rigid.
I still think gtx 460 is a better value card overall.
Radeon 6850 is only worth considering if you're after a low power, silent solution. Mine is almost passively cooled and is dead quiet. And it still delivers respectable performance.
What's so bad with XFX, I thought they did twice the lifetime warranty and we're quite reputed for their good service?

Passmark is not a very reliable benchmark for 3D performance.
e.g. it shows GTX 470 faster than GTX 590.
This is a more reasonable comparison: http://www.anandtech.com/show/3987/amds-radeon-6870-6850-renewing-competition-in-the-midrange-market
a cheap (<£110) HD5850 is by far the best deal (e.g the pre-order from ****)

I don't think they do the lifetime warrenty anymore. I have read quite a number of horror stories about people having problems with XFX and their RMA process. Their support used to be reputable, but has gone seriously down hill over the past few years.
The card model is HOT and the performance is excellent. I have been running the HIS version of this card for a while now and it runs really cool even when im running crysis on ultra settings for about a 3 hour period. Again i repeat what i said in the other post, if you can get away with it then stay away from XFX

Not specifically a scan issue. It's XFX's T's & C's.....

Yes put on the face of it XFX and scan seem to be in bed with each other in some way. XFX are always the cheapest cards they provide and are always on special deals. I have also noticed alot of the 3XS system bundles they do feature XFX GFX cards from the start. When RMA's my 5870X2 last year i sent it to Scan and they tested it, was then sent to XFX and they tested it also. Total turn around time 6 weeks.
