Tbh i would seriously consider a used 7970 ghz edition if i was spending around £150 on a card ..... Would be a lot better performance than this

I did buy a 3 Month old used XFX 280X OC off eBay last week but it was faulty when I got it! cost me money to send it back as well ! so this is why I bought a 280 one new cause its at the right price and will run BF4 etc on Ultra settings on his 24" 1920 x 1080 monitor.

He did have crossfire 7850's but Watchdogs doesn't like crossfire !!

I don't know what XFX cards are like these days but my old XFX 9800GT blew up after 4 months

Personally I wouldn't get a used Radeon card unless I knew the history of how it was used. Plenty have been used for mining, which hammers the card.

Really avoid XFX, they have one of the worst reliability rates. The problem is they never get the cooling right so after a few months they just burn. If you are to buy this consider an aftermarket cooler like Artic Accelero IV 280.

Edit: After some reading up on this card it seems XFX may have done arlight on this card re. cooling. Have a read here:

Glad you stuck it up Panda, this is a bargain for the Black edition, which is usually around £180.
XFX or not, it will still perform well, and this card in particular has gotten great reviews. Heat added. :)

I'd prefer this tbh, 2 year warranty which can be claimed through Novatech (don't have to go through XFX's terrible service), and you know it's brand new and unused, most used cards on sale these days have been used to bitcoin mine, especially older cards like the 7970.

I've used XFX for years in my own gaming rigs and never had an issue. I buy them cause I like the look of them and look cool with side windows plus good warranty !.

Also as above majority of the used 7970/280x on eBay have been used for mining so been messed with volts wise etc.

About the over heating etc ! No card should over heat if you have the right flow of air and space around your parts. My lads rig has 2 x 120mm up front intake 1 x 120mm bottom intake 1 x 120mm back outtake and 2 x 120mm top outtake and a fully loaded graphics card hits about 60 degrees.

Played sniper elite 3 on ultra settings last night and had 110fps on it.

i would of agreed with you but out of my last 5 gpus i have only had 1 that went wrong straight away ( had an issue out the box) other than that i have never actually claimed on a warranty so i will be looking at used next time

Nothing like a good representative sample (ONE) of an NVidia card (this one is AMD/ATI) from God knows how many years ago (a 9800GT!) :p

Plus good warranty? Have you ever needed to use it? Probably the worst supplier of pc components for warranty.

The warranty is through the supplier and not Direct with XFX. Still 2 years plus I've never had a XFX card die on me.

Loads back in stock now at the same price.
